  1. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 11:10 PM) Isn't it pretty much a given that they're going to thumb their nose at his eleventy billion dollar option and try to offer him something a bit more reasonable? I don't have anything against Jake in a Sox uniform, but this 1 healthy and productive year of his hasn't made anyone forget the amount of time he missed in the years prior. He's got to be willing to take some sort of 1 year deal if he ever wants anyone to throw more years and more zeroes at him in the future. I don't trust the Quintanas/Stantiagos/Humbers to grab the remaining 2 spots of a Sale/Danks/Floyd rotation. The 3 of them can compete for the 5th spot. Peavy can't beat Detroit either.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 09:09 PM) White Sox: 6-12 vs. the Royals; 6-12 vs. the Tigers. Epic failure. Total collapse. Team should be ashamed of itself. You can change managers all you want; you can't change the White Sox performance in September. Chokers. August came late.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 09:05 PM) And this ballgame and season are ovah. The Sox will score another 19 tomorrow.
  4. I take it some of you are watching the final nail in the coffin.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 08:54 PM) Is it wrong the Tigers will be the first AL team to clinch a division--and it's with 87 wins, while six other teams may end up with 90+ wins? Didn't the Royals and Cardinals win the WS with less?
  6. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 08:48 PM) Valverde's gonna blow it. Their weakest link in the post season along with their D.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) Cabrera 4-5, .329 Stud. Played hurt against the Sox and still did damage. No excuses for being hurt or tired on that lineup.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) Sox are going nowhere. Fixed. Meanwhile Detroit will still be playing baseball.
  9. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) What the **** are you talking about? How do homeruns not drive in runs? The guy leads the entire major leagues in walks -- who cares if they're intentional? Strikeouts don't kill rallies and more than popups and double play balls do. Those walk are gonna decrease and most pitchers don't fear him. K's are disastrous with men on base especially if they are congruent with your batting average. Sp far he's exceed his career high K by 19 and I can guarantee you he's not done yet. But Sox fans are too fascinated with the home run. What's new?
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 08:23 PM) Great day for Chicago...Sox get eliminated while the Cubs lose their 100th game. How are the Bears doing? If you look at this century, Chicago is the city of choke. The exception is the 2005 Sox were dominant in the post season. They were like the 85 Bears-should've won more.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) I'll root for Detroit. The longer they play, the more innings for Verlander, et. all. Also the more they win, the more they might have a letdown next year. To win the division, we are going to need a replay of this year out of Detroit. No way in hell we'll win enough for a wild card so we gotta win the division. GO DETROIT!!!! Please explain that logic. That was reserved for the Cubs with their flip flop 90 win 90 loss seasons.
  12. I wonder if Alomar will be their manager nest year. I remember the Sox organization high on him.
  13. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 08:05 PM) Albuquerque walks the bases loaded & Francouer cant stay patient at the plate.... They shouldn't have watched all of those Sox games.
  14. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) It looks like the offense and team as a whole is making a statement. 11-0 and Tank with a grannie. Love it even if it may be too late. Go out swinging and with pride 1. They didn't get the memo the season is over this week. 2. Over joyed that vacation time is coming. 3. Back to their comfort zone as being the tallest midget.
  15. The Sox are playing like a person who reached the end of a video game and is only playing for points.
  16. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) Why even run him out there? For what? He's going to be a free agent so why risk the injury? Why should that be the Sox concern?
  17. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 07:48 PM) Tigers wont do s*** in the playoffs anyway. Got decent starters. Cabrera is hot. They could do some damage.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 07:46 PM) Late night baseball may eliminate the Angels and Rays. If the A's win tonight, they clinch at least a wild card spot. Yankees will have a 1 game lead with 2 left over the O's. I may watch the As tonight. The could win the division.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 07:07 PM) Peralta just homered off Chen. 1-0 Tigers. Will we survive to fight another day? No. The team has assumed they are out of it. Players actually performing is the indication.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 05:00 PM) Yes, and no, a lot for 2013 depends on Danks and Konerko. We have the flexibility to trade Dunn/Rios/Ramirez/Thornton/Crain/Floyd and go with more youth should we choose to do so. Trayce Thompson and Carlos Sanchez both made huge strides as prospects. If Thompson can succeed at the big league level, that will make up for a lot of the production we're going to lose. That said, 3B continues to be a huge worry (most are now leaning against the YOUK option, but would like to keep him SOMEHOW) and so does Tyler Flowers being the everyday catcher, DeAza playing CF again and Viciedo hitting RHers and Beckham being consistent ever again. Might be the 2nd coming of Adam Dunn. 144 Ks. But 18 SB.
  21. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) Lets not get Dan Johnson fever. If he was a better bet than Konerko, his career up to this point would show it. This is an older player, and there's no mystery about him. Last year it was Viciedo fever. After Anderson was a bust, it was Jerry Owens fever.
  22. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 07:42 PM) Except the Sox. we should be use to that by now.
