  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 06:36 PM) I'd rather have rios. But Zambrano is a better hitter. Could he play the outfield?
  2. QUOTE (tommy @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 11:40 PM) I understand everyone gave up already but if we managed to sweep the Twins and then Tigers at home, we could end up 1st before the final six game of the season. So I guess it is one of the most important games for the Sox this season. Go ahead and tell me to keep on dreaming. That's the thing. We keep looking at Detroit but you have to pass the Twins.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 09:12 PM) Carrasco also pitched two days ago, so he was out anyway. I wonder how far into the game they let Hudson go? Well if he were to pitch against the Sox, at least 8 shut out innings since the Sox can't hit minor league pitching.
  4. Friday on the SCORE, during B&B, they mentioned Dye may be bad enough to put himself back on the team.
  5. QUOTE (tommy @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 03:58 PM) Maybe we should have Kotsay PH for Dye with bases loaded. I'd even take chances with Wise PH for Dye.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) Ozzie sure thank his stars he still has a job. This team is bad and no manager can change that.
  7. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 03:32 PM) I hope, after the year, that we find out Jermaine had some kind of terrible injury. I'd have a hard time believing it.
  8. QUOTE (son of a rude @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 01:51 PM) Rios should have killed that pitch =\ He needs to change his stance. He's not going to add any distance swinging on his tip toes.
  9. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 11:20 AM) Not bad. I hope that translates well in the future. I do too. So far it hasn't.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 19, 2009 -> 09:12 PM) Watched it and recorded it off WGN. Peavy looked good and so did the Sox hitters for a change Kinda interesting when the Sox acquired Peavy they went on a hot streak. Now that he's here, maybe they go on another one.
  11. QUOTE (striker62704 @ Sep 19, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) Heres another trade for you. Jenks and Danks for Fielder. Brewers need pitching. and..........the Sox don't need pitching? Let's see this thread started with Jenks for "prospects" to Alexi for a "quality reliever". It amazes me how fans value players. A closer is not the easiest hole to fill. Why is it that teams that have a reliable one seem to hang on to them? Pitching will always be expensive when you have to get it outside of your organization. I don't see Kenny getting rid of Jenks unless it is an outstanding deal. Then you have to fill that hole. If it's Thornton, then you lost a valuable setup man. That's another hole to fill. Also when it comes to free agency, how often do the Sox outbid anyone? Most agents seek long term contracts. The Sox don't like them. That's why they end up signing guys like Linebrink.
  12. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 10:38 AM) That station to station thing sure seems to win us a lot of games. Lose a lot of them that way too.
  13. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 10:05 AM) Bunts are so grinderesque. I simply cannot understand why statheads fail to see the grinder factor. Seriously, it's called mixing it up. There are aspects of it that cannot be measured. It's always been a part of baseball. Since we are Sox fans we can't grasp traditional baseball since we haven't seen it in years. We love our "station to station" baseball.
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) Reinsdorf needs to take control of this situation - top to bottom re-evaluation. Call in Eddie and really take a sobering look. Like they did after last season? Did you forget this season started with Josh Fields starting at 3rd? The standard was set for mediocrity on opening day. They are living up to it. It's sad that the best player might be they guy who was playing college baseball not too long ago.
  15. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 09:39 PM) Baseball IQ, something the White Sox have none of. It seems to run deep even into the farm system.
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if they get their asses kicked by the Royals this weekend. KC may be on a streak.
  17. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 09:07 PM) Somebody hit a HR. I'm sick of small ball. You'll have to wait until Linebrink is in.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 08:52 PM) What's amazing it is seems like White Sox pitchers had better chances for hits during interleague play than Dye or Rios have now. That's why I wouldn't mind seeing Carlos Z. on the Sox. He can hit better than some of these guys.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) If Jermaine gets two strikes on him these days, it's OVA. He has no chance. Well you can't accuse him of playing for a new contract.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) He's hit before. He's made a couple of All Star teams, so he's no novice. Maybe he's stubborn. Maybe he is lacking desire like many scouts claim. Maybe he's just in a slump the size no one has ever seen before. He will eventually be better. Well us Sox fans have seen slumps like that before. It should be nothing new.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 08:40 PM) I'd bet you if KW put Rios on waivers and someone claimed him, he'd be sucking back champagne at Market with JR within the hour. How does that guy even make contact with that stance?
  22. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 08:34 PM) How is that different from Jenks? He has more than one pitch. He made 2 major mistakes. The first HR any of us could hit that out. You couldn't place that pitch any better on a tee.
  23. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 08:34 PM) pena has a heavy ball I think he's the 2nd coming of McDougal. Million dollar arm, 10 cent brain. He will probably blow this game after 2 out and a 0-2 count.
