  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) I'd love to see him in the 8th, but you're right. Rested bullpen, guy who needs the confidence. With a four-run lead, you can pull him after one guy getting on, if you want. He's thrown far fewer pitches than his opponent who not only has thrown more pitches coming into the inning, but who is trailing by four runs. Let him start the inning!
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) I'd let Putz start 8th I'd say with his low pitch count, you do let him start the 8th, as a further confidence builder.
  3. With Jackson's fastball, and all of the various clubs he's has been with, hasn't the concept of coming up with a change-up come up with him before?
  4. Jackson is at a low enough pitch count to be able to give us another couple of innings, provided of course that he's effective.
  5. What to do...what to do...what to do next season with this man we call *Paulie*!!!
  6. I think I'd rather watch Vizquel at third when he's 50 than Teahen there ever again.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 07:25 PM) Very nice AB by Beckham. Come on Ozzie, put a play on. +1
  8. What is considered to be Edwin's best off-speed pitch? He seems to have an effective fastball, but I haven't seen the good off-speed to go with it. It certainly isn't the slider this evening.
  9. With tomorrow marking the two thirds way mark in the season, doesn't it just make sense to get Dayan into the starting line-up every day, whether at 3rd or DH, and maybe just maybe have Kotsay pinch-hit for him sporadically against certain right-handed pitchers? I mean, enough is enough already!
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 07:11 PM) I'd like to note...I think you made Carlos angry. Now THAT is some funny stuff!!
  11. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) One? You arent watching the game apparently You don't deserve to lose a game you are leading 1-0 in the 3rd inning.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 06:50 PM) Juan Pierre might be the most ideal candidate for the hit-and-run to play in the majors during the last decade. It's a no-brainer with the way he's able to make contact.
  13. Isn't the 9th spot in the line-up usually where you drop off the worst hitter in your line-up?
  14. It doesn't seem like the media has taken Ozzie to task on his (over)use of Kotsay whatsoever. Why is that?
  15. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 07:13 PM) I've always thought that paranoid Reinsdorf and Boyer would have employees on chat rooms trying to spin... Oh, I don't report to Boyer. No, no, no. Don't insult me! I go straight to the man with the ceeee-gar!
  16. These are my opinions, feel free to disagree, no big deal Tonight they look like they just lost 36 of the last 47. And it will be the inability to put teams like this away that will ultimately cost them the division. Hey, but like you said, whatever. Doesn't matter how you feel they looked during this one game - they've still won 36 out of their last 47, and that stretch is far more indicative and predictive of the kind of team we have than just this one game. And with the Sox beating Detroit four out of the five teams they've faced each other coming into this game, your point about putting teams away is.......what? You can't win 'em all, you know.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 06:50 PM) This is an impressive rant. Not a rant you'd expect to hear after your team just reeled off 36 of their last 47 games, but whatever.
  18. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 06:35 PM) Never doubt A White Sox in NJ. I live in NY these days, and doubting NJ is very sporting in these parts! : )
  19. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 06:13 PM) As soon as we blew them out in Game 1, I knew we would play like ass tonight. Just like you "knew" the Sox had reverted back to the Bad Sox of April/May and were pretty much finished for the season after Jenks blew the save in Minnesota?
  20. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 12:14 PM) Viciedo ? I thought he and Alexei shared an agent, can't think of his name. Jaime Torres?
  21. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 12:31 PM) Who are the Sox giving to the National for Dunn then? Notice that they didn't say that Dunn was not going to the Sox. Sox may really want to keep Jackson and another package on the way to Washington. Santos and Flowers? Wasn't the rumor about a week ago that it would be Viciedo + prospects going to Washington for Dunn? I wonder if that is still possibly the case.
  22. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 09:09 PM) Fat Ass did great tonight Hahaha, alright, I'll give you that one. Go Sox!!! = D
