  1. Sox 2-0. Twins 0-2. We got a 2 game lead on them already in less than 24 hours since start of the season.
  2. Omer. Asik. Obliterated Kevin Love with the nasty rejection.
  3. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) If it's the former, then I'm giving the nod to Dwight. He changes everything about the games Orlando plays. Their whole system is built around him offensively, and defensively he shuts off the paint from anyone on the other team. DBAH0 watches the Magic way more than I do, but every time I see them play, there's no doubt to me that Dwight significantly changes how both teams approach the game. I think a bulk of your argument is based on physical dominance. Howard, being the man child with freakish athleticism, looks to be the most dominant player on the floor every game out there. With the eye test alone, he definitely has the most impact in the game both ends of the floor because he looks superior to his opposition. But if you take a look at DRose, is there a more dominant 6'3 guard in the league in DRose? I mean it tough to say that a 6'3 point guard is physically dominating, but that is exactly DRose is. Watching Rose on a drive to the hoop is like watching a wild stallion let loose from the barn racing towards the carrots up front while barn keepers are trying to catch him from behind. Many times you would see big men try to grab a piece of Rose while he relentlessly tries to get to the hoop. If you need illustration, just look at the amazing layup against Wade and Lebron in the last Heat game. The point is that, I think Rose is just as physically dominating as howard on the offensive end, even though he is a 6'3 point guard. Defensively, there is no argument, Howard definitely brings more to the table than Rose. But given Rose's many late game heroics and clutch plays(tonight is a great example), it definitely gives him the edge over Howard. Howard on the other hand, is a liability in late games because his poor FT shooting, and teams don't usually draw up plays for big men late in the game. I think the value both men brings to the table is more similar than a lot would think. As a vivid Bulls fan, I say the MVP race is a toss up now between Rose and Howard, but I will give Rose the slight advantage given the Bulls are 7 games up on the Magic in the loss column. If both team's record are similar, I would go for Howard in a heart beat. p.s. if you think Howard has a s***ty supporting cast, get this. Count the number of games the offensively inept Keith Bogans, Taj Gibson, the 55 year old Kurt Thomas, and the injured Noah started for us, you would be amazed that the Bulls are somehow in first place.
  4. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 07:58 AM) Did anyone catch that unbelievably bush league move by Hilton Armstrong at the end of the game last night? Dude pretended to shake CJ Watson's hand as CJ was dribbling off the last 10 seconds, stole the ball, ran up and hit a 3. I was in shock. The Bulls were in shock. Unreal. This classless fool is known for doing this. He can't get any stats during real competition so he have to pad his stats using bush league moves.
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 11:49 PM) lol at Griffin's response, you could tell the guy had about 3 reactions at the same time, and knew right away he blew it and got a tech and tried to shut up but it was too late. I'd gone insane too if I was Blake. Normally if the player posterizes someone like that, they would always call the blocking foul instead of a charge, and this was a really close call. I think the ref was just tired of Blake doing mean things to foreign white centers.
  6. Is this the best dunk that's called an offensive foul?
  7. It's hard not to envision Howard in a Laker uniform. In two years, Kobe would be 34, going into his 16th season. With the Kobe on the verge of retirement and the Laker in need of a superstar, I would assume they will go all out of Howard. The Lakers has always had a superstar/hall of famer on their squad, from Elgin Baylor to Jerry West, to Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Shaq, and Kobe. Howard would have the personality, style of play, and impact to be the torch bearer to a Laker great and play in front of the most popular basketball team in the world. He could be the face of the Lakers for the next 7-8 years. For Howard, it would increase his already great popularity, and possibly cement his legacy if he can win with that team.
  8. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 18, 2011 -> 08:39 PM) Bulls are REALLY lucky that wasn't called a foul. (although the Pacers announcers were ridiculously homericious there ) Pacers announcers are some of the most homerist announcers ever. with 47.6 seconds left in over, Rose drove the lane, the defender was trying to take the charge, both men hit the deck hard as Rose hits the layup, clearly a block foul should have been call, but those morons say it was a good no call (really? when both men hit the floor hard, it should be a good no call?). with 24 seconds left, Rose strips McRoberts, he got all balls, barely any arms, but McRoberts sold it and refs called a foul. Those f***ers says that's got to be a foul. Good thing that those f***ers will be working locally their entire lives.
  9. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 16, 2011 -> 09:38 PM) Wade has to be the most unlikeable player in the NBA. from a Chicago sport fans perspective, yes. from a basketball fan perspective, it's probably lebron. but from a player's perspective, KG has gotta be the most unlikeable guy. I am not sure how many foes he has now, but he has been a complete asshole ever since he moved to Boston.
  10. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 15, 2011 -> 09:52 PM) Yeah, well, it is a Chicago board, and Derrick Rose is the MVP of the Decade Last I checked, the name of the thread is still 2010-2011 NBA Thread. I am not even a fan of Kevin Love, but let the man post what he wishes.
  11. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 13, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) I can't believe the Bulls have a realistic shot at winning 60 games this year. Simply incredible with the injuries. Have to go 13-4 in the last 17 games, not easy, but looking at the schedule not unrealistic. Washington @New Jersey @Indiana Sacramento @Atlanta Memphis @Milwaukee Philadelphia @Minnesota @Detroit Toronto Phoenix Boston @Cleveland @Orlando @NY Knicks New Jersey Only four really tough games: the road games against Atlanta, Orlando, the Knicks and at home against Bosotn. If they can play at the level they are playing right now, they can easily go 16-1. Trouble is, the Bulls always play down to their opponent. They may end up beating all of Boston, Orlando and Atlanta at ATL, but they will sure lose a game here and there playing the weaklings.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 10, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) To be honest, I dont know. Kirk isnt as great as a shooter as I thought he was going to be, and I like CJ Watson as Rose's backup. Bogans is bigger and plays good enough defense, i dont know that Kirk would be a great upgrade I couldn't disagree with you more on this one. Kirk is exactly the type of player we need right now. He is not a elite shooter ala Korver or Ray Allen, but he is shooting 45-41-89% this season, pretty good don't u think? A career 38% from 3s is no slouch either. While Bogans is a good defender, Kirk is a great defender (all defensive team recognition), a couple years back I even heard people call him the best defensive guard in the league besides Kobe. The most important difference between Bogans and Kirk is Kirk can actually handle. We do not have anyone who can handle the ball and create their own shots outside of Rose and Watson, that is why you see constant trapping on Rose. Bogans is one trick pony who can only shoot spot up threes, but you get more dimensions with Kirk. Lastly, Kirk can easily get you 10-12 points a game with limited touches, but Bogans 4 points per game is not going to fly.
  13. jeez, looking at the horror the Bulls have brought this season. First they got Jim O'Brien and Jerry Sloans fired, and now they have the Miami wimps crying like little leaguers, I wonder what's next.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 5, 2011 -> 09:57 AM) I wonder if Rose's legs are getting tired. Being a scorer is all about your legs being fresh and strong. This kid has taken on so much of the load this year... I wonder if it is catching up to him? I would assume that that's the case. All the practice and FIBA games over the summer has to have some effects on him. He doesn't look as fast has he was at the beginning of the year. Thibs noticed that as well. Normally he would sub Rose out at the beginning of second and put him back in at the 7 or 6 minute mark. But last night Rose didn't come back until the 3 minute mark. It's been the same pattern for quite a few games now. I just hope Rose doesn't get gas out when the playoff starts.
  15. rose should stop taking so many 3s, he has struggled with his 3 pt shot with the exception of December. He shooting 22% from 3 between february and march, yet he's taking 5-6 threes per game.
  16. I kind of wished the Bulls didn't sign Rasual for the sake that we don't have to hear the so call nickname. I mean Business as Rasual? Comeon, it's pronounced rah-sool, and I can't recall anyone nicknamed after an idiom. On a serious note, Rasual Butler probably handles the ball worse than Bogans, his three point % was at 37% coming into this year, and Bogans is hitting at about the same clip. Defensively, I would argue he is a worse fit than Bogans. Bogans is a natural SG and has the quickness to check most 2s, but Butler is a natural 3, and as many has point out, should be better at checking 3s than 2s.
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 1, 2011 -> 11:23 PM) Outside of game coverage, I don't even watch them anymore. That channel and their "journalism" is a complete joke. In bed with the leagues and big markets, no need to watch that crap. The best part of the story on that link you're referring to is it includes the Knicks, but not the Spurs, who only have the best record in the league. Well actually the point of those articles is to have their regional sites promote their local teams and plead their case for No.1. They have an ESPN New York but no ESPN San Antonio. Nobody can actually say the Knicks are the best in the league with a straight face.
  18. wow the next 4 games are going to be very tough for the Bulls. roads games against ATL, Magic and Heat, then back home against the Hornets. If the Bulls can somehow win 3 of the 4, they have a pretty realistic chance of getting that 1st seed.
  19. What a lazy show by Bosh tonight. But hey, I don't blame him, he was probably trying to avoid injury and save some energy so he could provide for his wife tonight.
  20. the bulls now has $2.9 million in cap space, and anthony parker makes $2.85 million while parker might be an upgrade over the great keith bogans, i doubt he will make much of a difference on this team.
  21. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 20, 2011 -> 06:03 PM) Well that and he wouldn't have that much creativity in the air. Ibaka's free throw line dunk was one of the best dunks I've seen in a long time. McGee was also impressive. I would of love to see Blake jump over the entire car from the top instead of the hood of it. He probably could of done it. true. his inability to palm the ball limits him to mostly tomahawk dunks in most of the games, and he admits he's not a creative dunker but if he decides to give it a go, i think he could have made it to the finals and possibly win it base on reputation and because he's a little man dunker. I really think McGee should have won it yesterday with all those creative dunks. but blake griffin is second to only justin bieber in terms of popularity in LA.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 17, 2011 -> 10:22 PM) Rose just worked Tony Parker. Parker got half his points on CJ Watson. lol that's wishing thinking considering Watson only played 10 minutes and Parker scored 26 Parker only scored 4 points on Watson, the rest of the buckets he got were through screen and rolls on Rose. Rose got stuck on screen way too often tonight, but I don't blame him, Parker is one of the best in the league in scoring through screens. Nonetheless, a great show by Mr. Rose on the offensive end tonight.
  23. http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ss...ies_his_co.html Batum defendes Rose's defense. Surprisingly, Rose plays Dwill and CP3 back to back. Rose really owned DWill down the stretch tonight. If he can do the same to CP3, I expect the best PG in the league debate to heat up again soon.
  24. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 11:42 PM) I dont know necessarily what the game plan was, but it couldnt be for Rose/Boozer to both cover Miller and leave Aldridge open. If the Bulls cant figure out how to play the pick & roll they are going to have some tough games. it must be the psychological effect. boozer wants no part of aldridge. He absolutes dominated the bulls in the fourth quarter.
