Sox not adding a LH bat; looking at relief, Damon?
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 06:40 PM) I wasn't going anywhere with that. I was just watching some highlights from last year (not 'the catch') and was just wondering what the D metrics said about him. Good last year, bad in other years.

MLB Network Profiled League Average Players
QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 10:00 AM) A WAR of 2 is average. The fact is, Konerko gets destroyed because of the positional adjustment. Alexei had a down year, but I think he rebound, and his plate discipline continues to improve. As for Beckham, I think he'll be a good 2B, probably a tier below Utley, Pedroia, and Kinsler (and maybe Zobrist) though. Why? He seems to be on track to match all of these guys.

The 25th Man Quandry
I'd really like to see the Sox swing a deal for Mike Lowell. Have him DH in about 80-90 games and let him play 30-40 games at 1st/3rd base.

The Jim Thome Saga Ends
I don't understand why they didn't target DeRosa then. Have a 5 man rotating DH between him, Teahan, Quentin, Pierre and Konerko, that way you're at least getting decent production on the field.

White Sox agree to terms with Tony Pena
1.2 mill, according to de luca. http://twitter.com/ChrisDeLuca/status/7921958715

Which team did you have higher expectations for?
It has to be 2006, coming off of a world series with a very good rotation and an elite offense as opposed to coming off of a sub .500 year with an elite pitching staff and possibly bottom 5 offense.

Official 2009-2010 NFL Thread
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jan 14, 2010 -> 09:02 AM) Fellow Seahawks fan here. Oh nice. Some one to share the pain with, heh. Just kidding, of course, I'm pretty optimistic about the upcoming system.

Official 2009-2010 NFL Thread
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 12, 2010 -> 12:02 PM) Does Seneca have a future as a starting QB somehwre or is he only gonna be more of a wildcat/backup type player?? As an avid Seahawks fan, I can tell you that Seneca will never be more than a good backup. He gets plenty of balls batted down, he barely eclipses 6'0 and he is one of the more inaccurate passers in the league.

Phil Rogers bash session
QUOTE (chisoxt @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 06:17 AM) I agree. Do fans only want to read about how great their team and ownership is? And I still think that the Rios pickup was a terrible move given the money that we will spend on him and his alarming decline in productivity. Right. One down year has turned his career into a bust. Why would you do that, Kenny?

Will KW make a move prior to Soxfest?
I'm hoping for Vlad as well.

Free Agent Tracker
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 09:53 AM) Marlon Byrd to the Cubs, 3 years 15 million Nice deal for Byrd, Cubs got a decent player. Don't like the years on him though, he's getting up there in age.

Torres and Hudson win MiLBYs
QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 09:53 AM) I don't think Hudson could net a Fielder or Gonzalez in return. I love Gavin, but given the chance to add a bat like that to team that still would have Peavy-MB-Danks at the top of the rotation and Hudson/Freddy/Torres at the bottom would be too sweet to pass up. If we could land one of those types of bats for just Gavin, then yeah, go for it; however, I really don't think we could get a Fielder/Gonzalez without parting with both Gavin and Hudson.

Torres and Hudson win MiLBYs
No way. Floyd is signed cheaply and has proven himself in USCF. If anyone gets traded, it should be Hudson.
