  1. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) If the DBacks throw in Adam LaRoche, do you bite if you're the Sox? Also, give reasons please Because many years of cheap production from Gordo and Huddy is worth substantially more than expensive Jackson, half a year of LaRoche and soon-to-be expensive Johnson. If you have to trade Gordon Beckham, you had better be getting Prince Fielder.
  2. If its really just Hudson and Morel for Dunn, I think Kenny would have done it, unless he is holding out for Fielder.
  3. QUOTE (joeynach @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) Danny "the next twin call up that no one has ever heard of" Valencia just a hit a grand slam off the reigning Cy Young Award champion. UMMM OK They cheat. Its the only explanation.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) Well, Twins won. 6 spot on Greinke in the first. Doesn't that just f***ing figure.
  5. I think it is really funny how people say Hudson has no command, no balls and will only be a "nice #4 starter" and then follow it up with no statistical evidence.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 11:26 AM) A.J. has a +2 in Plus/Minus Stole Base Runs, good for 5th in MLB and first in the American League. Not bad at all. I'll take it. It'd be nice if he could pick it up with the bat, but at least he is helping on the field.
  7. In 2007 and 2008, Jenks' best years, his fastball was 8.5 and 8.7 runs above average, in 2006, his curve was 9.4 runs above average. Last year, his fastball was 2.9 runs below average, and this year, his fastball is exactly average and his curve is .3 runs below average. The guy has lost his stuff, and that is why he is failing. His WPA is -.38, he is below average in the clutch (obviously), he throws his fastball only 69% of the time, his curve has gone from being used 17.4% of the time in 2006, when it was rated as 9.4 runs above average, to 7.9% of the time. He has gone from a good flamethrower, to a bad pitcher.
  8. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) you can't be serious stuff only gets you so far as a closer, you have to have the mindset to do it, and Sergio hasn't even pitched for a full year yet I am serious. Lets see what the dude's got, stick him out there for a couple games and if he can shut the door, you've got a closer for the next few years.
  9. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 06:43 AM) People would probably kill for Papelbon and he has more blown saves, allowed 6 HR's, and has only struck out 32 in 39 innings. BTW, not that it's a big deal,but Thornton has as many blown save as Jenks in only 7 oppurtunities. No one gives a s*** about "blown saves", Bobby didn't get a "blown save" for that s*** he pulled in Minnesota. The save is the worst stat in baseball.
  10. Make Sergio closer. He has the stuff for it and it would allow us to keep Putz and Matt for the tougher situations.
  11. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 02:17 PM) OBP is fine, average not so much. Player, not so much.
  12. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 03:11 PM) White Sox have inquired on Jose Bautista. ):
  13. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 12:39 PM) I don't know....Betemit did have great stats in spring training the one season he was here. f*** yeah he did. can't believe Arizona didn't jump all over him...
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 05:00 AM) The Swisher trades... Honestly, with what Swisher has done since he has left the Sox, the package we gave up for him doesn't seem so bad; however, Kenny did get fleeced with the Yankees deal.
  15. If we deal Hudson, we have to be sure we have enough left over for a suitable innings eater type.
  16. Why convert Q! when you could just DH him? Viciedo is younger and, until proven otherwise, MUCH sturdier than Q.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) It'd be awesome, but from what I've read, they are dangling Werth to the team who can offer them the best SP. Unless they REALLY liked Hudson, I don't see a fit. Could swing him in a 3 team deal to get Huddy in a Oswalt deal.
  18. Makes me interested. Werth in RF, Q! to DH?
  19. If we trade Hudson for a bat, and Fister comes extremely cheap, then it's a good idea. Otherwise, not so much.
