At 100%, Thornton every time. As of right now, Putz, then Matt, then Bobby.

Yes. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 10:02 PM) They'll abuse Pena that way, he's done it before. They won't do that with a recent first round pick of which they are planning on limiting the innings. Do you think they would do that to Putz, Thornton or Jenks? Well right, of course they wouldn't do that to Putz or any of the 'pen guys who have been doing that for YEARS, but Sale is just months removed from starting on a regular schedule, which is why he would be able to start atm.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) He's not even going to be stretched out enough in the minors to start in the majors. Don't be daft. If he comes up, he'll be a situational lefty reliever. That's his role in 2010. In 2011, he'll start. You don't have to be stretched out to go 5 frigging innings, look at Tony Pena this season. Being daft is assuming that, if they trade Hudson, the next best starting prospect in our system wouldn't make a start or two.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 09:31 PM) That's not going to happen with Sale. Not a chance in hell he starts a game for the Sox this year. Why say that? They already stated that they want him in the majors, it's not asinine for a college STARTER to make a START when they promote him to the big leagues, lol.

Excellent.

Lol, look at Deion. It'd be amazing to be able to laugh off an arrest like that.

QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) Dan Hudson looks like another great career minor leaguer. I have no faith in Williams developing pitchers he drafts. Too bad, we're going to really miss Peavy. lol

I had mlb.tv the past two seasons before this one, and I thought it was great. There is some weird blackout thing on sundays or some s*** that pissed me off, but other than that, it was a godsend. The only reason I didn't re-subscribe was that I just didn't have the time to watch the games. I may actually get it after the all star break.

Q! is on fire lately, and just looks a lot stronger and more comfortable at the plate. Am I the only one noticing that he is looking a lot more like the Carlos of old as he heats up?

QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) I believe we must first get it(1) before we get it(2), so I feel that that is most important. But if we don't achieve the second "get it", the first "get it" is rather useless; therefore, the second "get it" has to be of utmost importance.

What lead off hitter is available out there? It sure would look nice to get some one, say, GOOD in the 1 hole with Alexei batting #2. That way we can stick bald and old and slappy and fast to 8/9, what a wonderful world that would be! -

At least its Rios, Konerko, Q! in the 9th. Ugh. -
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 12:33 PM) Heh, that -2.7 UZR is in 38 innings this season, it puts him at a -80.3 UZR/150, that's not so good (helping to offset his bat and making him a 0.7 WAR player this year). He's going to be an awful fielder no matter where you put him and personally, I have much higher expectations for our big impact bat than Ty Wigginton. Oh lord ouch. Thought he was more useful in the field than that. Back to the LaRoche boat.
-
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 01:22 PM) Isn't he a righty? We want a lefty. Gavin Floyd, Flowers and Vicedo for Joey Votto I really don't care about righty or lefty, I care about production haha. But yeah, Votto would be nice. Not for Floyd though.
-
We should really just go after Ty Wiggington. He can play multiple positions and has just solid enough a bat to plug that haggard ass hole at DH. He keeps everyone fresh and he has been semi respectable at 3B this season (-2.7 UZR), he's hit 13 homers this year and has a .357 wOBA. He isn't expensive and should be pretty easily attained.

Did Randy Williams just hit 96? -
True that. Even LaRoche would be awesome.

Screw the stupid ass cubs, 12 in a row? I think so. -
It's really strange how every season, some one seems to underachieve in the hitting department. If an aspect of a business underachieves annually, changes are made. I don't understand how the White Sox continue to employ Greg Walker when the results continue to be poor. Carlos Quentin, Gordon Beckham, Josh Fields, etc. all came to the White Sox and played well immediately; however, after prolonged exposure to the team, they began to underachieve. How one whose job is to help the hitters achieve production has remained a staple on the coaching staff is beyond me.
