Another thing I’ve been noticing is we’re running into bad luck with some AB’s.

No they aren’t but we are relying on them quite a bit because we keep shuffling the bottom half of the lineup due to the injuries of Jiménez, Robert and Grandal. There is no consistency in the lineup.

I think the injuries have finally caught up to this team but teams go through these spurts.

They aren’t seeing the ball that well right now.

They are playing it really, really conservative. Probably because they don’t want to re-injure something. Just got to be patient.

It’s not a good idea to baby the players too much. You need to have your best players in the lineup or pitching to have the best chance to win. Now there’s other factors like matchups and other things to consider but if you want to win as many games as possible or put distance ahead of other teams you need to play your best players consistently at all times if possible. I get there are injuries and other things, but you really need to put yourself in the best situations to win. TLR has done a good job with managing this team so far but he’s had some questionable decisions that have cost us some games as well.

You have a good point here. Ruiz isn’t an 8th inning set up man. Look what happened to him last year when we brought him into similar situations. He was terrible! However, I’m not going to put all of this on Ruiz because Tepera hasn’t looked good so far and that may be the reason why we used him in that situation tonight. We need Tepera to get over his jitters or step it up.

I noticed that he got out of the box quickly but than slowed down at the end when he got closer to the base.

Yeah I think they’ll be fine once they get Robert, Eloy and Grandal all back. I would rather have a lineup like this than what they are throwing out there right now. SS Anderson, 2nd Hernandez, 3rd Moncada, 1st Abreu, LF/DH Jiménez, CF Robert, C Grandal, LF/DH Vaughn, RF Engel. We may have used Kopech one too many innings tonight but if they want to develop him into a starter than he needs to throw more innings. I think he’ll be fine though and they will find the innings for him or maybe have him throw some side sessions.

I’m wondering if Kopech is battling an injury. Wouldn’t surprise me.

We just need to battle through this until Eloy, Robert and Grandal are back.

Cleveland is like a gnat that just won’t go away.

He didn’t look good for sure in his first start but he might of had some jitters.

We need Robert, Eloy and Grandal in this lineup badly.

Just throw it in the strike zone.
