  1. QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 08:48 PM) Escobar can't hit for crap and his defense is probably not an upgrade from Beckham. The only advantage he provides is switch hitting and it doesn't help much from the #9 hitter. Escobar has gotten two starts and has a hit in each one...Gordo has what, 3 hits all season?
  2. It would be so nice to see A FLASH from Morel or Beckham.
  3. Power out of the lead-off spot...feels nice. Way to go Alejandro!!!
  4. Oh yeah!!!! Sox catchers are throwin' out some runners this season!!
  5. This Baltimore line-up is really not fun to face. Uncomfortable pretty much up and down the order.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 07:51 PM) No. I want him to focus on swinging at the pitches that are strikes first. He's got enough of a problem hitting those pitches. If he gets called out a few times because an ump doesn't call the zone correctly, so be it. Our hitters also need to learn how to protect the plate on two strikes. How many times have we seen Becks and Dunn take borderline pitches just off the plate for strike three? AJ is a great example of this...don't leave it up to the ump.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) That ball wasn't in the zone. If he swings and misses you're going to complain that he's chasing. Nope...I really wouldn't. Would have been pissy he struck out, but not because he would have chased it.
  8. I'm sorry...but protect the damn zone. Close enough when you're a .103 hitter.
  9. Nothing like a rally going with Becks, Morel and Dunn 3 of our next 4 hitters.
  10. Shocker. Paul gets a hit on a guy that made our other hitters look stupid.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 07:30 PM) Yeah there is....don't throw exclusively fastballs. The ball was over Chavez' head virtually...Peavy would have been just liable to hang a waste off-speed pitch. Peavy is throwing too many fastballs, but I had no problem with that pitch in particular. That's a swing and miss most of the time.
  12. It's not like Jones didn't hit that exact pitch out of the park to tie the game the other night...
  13. Hunter had 5 strikeouts in 13 innings coming in...
  14. Hope Jake brought his A+++ game...and by that I mean a shutout.
  15. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 03:52 PM) I agree, but look at what we're seeing. It's like the beginning of last year again. Dunn is struggling, Rios is struggling (although he looks better so far), the closer blew a save followed by a mega-meltdown of the bullpen, Danks has one bad inning and the offense can't answer... It's scary. And don't forget about the misplays in the outfield...also reminders of last season.
  16. QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 07:00 PM) Somebody help me. Do any of you know how to listen to the game online without paying for some subscription? I know of some stream sites where you could watch it...don't think there is a way to listen though...at least without having to pay for it.
  17. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 06:18 PM) Considering I don't know who Pedro Alvarez is, I am. Speaking of Alvarez...he just homered off of Daniel Hudson to tie that game at 1-1 in the 7th.
  18. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) When does the Lillibridge needs to start at third thread start? Lilli has honestly looked just as horrible in his 5 at-bats this year.
  19. Escobar now with hits in both starts...and in both games there weren't many Sox hits to go around.
