  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 09:00 PM) As much as people hate my Ozzie posts and repetitive posts, I dislike the optimistic posts every night. Most of us know the standings. We also know the eye test is indicating the White Sox are a .500 team at best. I know you have to be a generally unhappy person living in Lowrents, but there are a bunch of teams who are supposed to contend this season not passing the eye test right now. The Sox have some struggling hitters. Who doesn't. It's stupid to say that Brent Morel and Gordon Beckham don't pass our eye test when they are hitting in the .100's. It's easy to say they Sox don't pass our eye test when they're trailing 9-3...but there are plenty of occasions this season where the Sox have actually looked like an ok baseball team. We have months to have crappy attitudes about a bad team if it gets to that point...but to be all pissy about it right now is just a waste of energy.
  2. On the bright side, I don't think there is a single person who wouldn't have take being tied for first place 19 games into the season when the season started.
  3. I was really hoping to stay at least in the neighborhood when the Boston bullpen takes center stage...but there isn't a bullpen on God's green earth that is gonna fork over a 6 run lead to the Sox offense.
  4. Doubront really isn't fooling anyone...besides Gordon.
  5. This game has 13-5, 13-6 written all over it. Heres hoping that Viciedo, Beckham and Morel are a part of the offense.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 08:16 PM) One win in a 4 game series? No. I don't care who the f*** we're playing. Besides, the Red Sox suck right now. They're about to win a 4th straight and we're about to lose a 3rd straight...who sucks right now?
  7. This game just had a wierd feel from the get-go...Philip just doesn't have it tonight.
  8. Viciedo and Morel really could have used those balls dropping. But, when you're going bad...those balls don't drop.
  9. Philip needs to start getting ahead of batters or it's gonna be a really long night for him.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 07:43 PM) That was like the old Alex. I still get scared everytime he rolls over to short or pops up to the right side.
  11. Productive offensive inning there. Made him throw around 30 pitches and got a run back. If the Sox can just get to that bullpen early...
  12. Yeah Paulie! Very nice! 21 pitches and counting...keep him working.
  13. That coulda been worse. I don't feel awful about the 2 spot there. Lets rattle the bats tonight.
  14. I hope Youkilis watches that tape...he's gonna feel pretty damn stupid.
  15. Once you're behind Ortiz 3-1 it's complete madness to come at him with first base open and a DP candidate(who is struggling) on deck... Have we not learned from yesterday?
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 08:14 PM) But sit Morel for who? Lillibridge? Escobar? Kuhn? McPherson? This will get Balta all riled up, again. None of those guys are long-term solutions at the hot corner, either. I'm so sick of the word "long-term solution". The long-term solution isn't on the roster. It isn't down on the farm...just put the least amount of suck at third base so the Sox have a shot to win some ballgames. That's it.
  17. I say Crain. Let Reed keep doing what he's doing. I'd rather not put any more pressure on him than we have to. Thornton-Reed as set-up men. Nate Jones as our next most reliable (the guy has gone 8 innings without allowing a run). Loogie1 and Loogie2 as our lefty specialists. Stewart as our long reliever/garbage man.
  18. Between playing Boston and welcoming back Humber and Paulie...should be a good turnout tomorrow night.
  19. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:41 PM) Everybody blames the last crappy thing for a loss, in this case Santiago. There was plenty o' crap to spread around. You're right...but Santiago got crushed against a team that didn't crush anything for 32 innings. 4 runs in 32 innings. 3 runs off Santiago. He recorded one out...not good.
  20. Hurts...gotta shake it off. Seriously. It's one game. still 10-8. Still a 4-2 roadtrip. All is not lost. Get em' tomorrow.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:23 PM) Nobody ever said we were good fans. I think those of us still watching after all of the horrid things the Sox have done to try and lose this game are good fans...
