  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 06:37 PM) You're giving Lester too much credit! Flowers, Viciedo and Morel will need at least 9 pitches to strike out consecutively. I was predicting a Morel first pitch pop to short center in there.
  2. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 06:32 PM) instead of 1-0, its 0-0, only good thing is Lester's pitch count is up 9 pitch inning next frame for Lester. Calling it.
  3. Damn it Rios...here come the pop-outs to the right side again. Too many of those lately.
  4. Have made Lester throw 27 pitches so far this inning. We've seen this already this series though. With every 20+ inning where the starter labors, there is a Morel-Beckham 5 pitch inning to follow. Evens out.
  5. Red Sox start tonight like they started lastnight. Going 1-2-3.
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 05:18 PM) I'm going with bogus, only because someone on the trib said they saw him limping around the locker room. Would they let him limp around? Am I grasping at straws? I'm just going to assume it's true, and feel a huge sense of relief and joy if it comes out that he is only going to be out a couple of weeks or something... I know we're on a Sox forum, but the last thing I'll say about it is that I would have taken Rose out at the 4 minute mark with the score 95-75...Philly wasn't coming back, and with the injuries that D-Rose has dealt with...better safe than sorry. For it to happen with a minute left of a game that was virtually decided is sick to think about. Edit: Not gonna lie...I'm devistated.
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:40 PM) only a Sox win can slightly ease the pain of watching DRose go down. C'mon JFP.... Opinion on whether those reports of a torn ACL/MCL are bogus? Not a pretty line-up...hopefully some of these guys come alive.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 10:14 PM) LMAO Wat?!! The turning point in the game was a first inning double not being a homerun? It wasn't the sixth inning when Danks loaded the bases with a 3-2 lead and promptly gave up a double to MacDonald? So the Sox should have lost 10-4 instead of 10-3? Lol I actually agree that AJ's double not leaving the yard as a huge turning point. There is a big difference between taking a 3-0 early lead and a 1-0 lead. Who knows how the game goes momentum-wise if the Sox apply maximum pressure there in that first inning. The double went from a momentum-builder to a momentum-killer after Rios went up and stranded two guys with an awful swing and pop up to first.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 09:58 PM) 1-11 from the 7/8/9 spot tonight. Morel with the awful protect the plate swing on the 0-1 count. Go get 'em Jake! Not to mention another 0fer from the 2 spot. DeAza AJ Rios Konerko Dunn Ramirez Viciedo Lilly Morel Just do it.
  10. I get that the Red Sox offense is awesome...but freakin' Kelly Shoppach, Darnell McDonald, Cody Ross, Marlon Byrd and Mike Aviles were featured in that line-up tonight. That's five spots in the batting order that are average-below average...John Danks just sucked. End of story. Glad to see we put up a fight at the end. 5 perfect innings for the Boston Bullpen now.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 09:49 PM) I wonder if Beckham's glove is so good he'll reverse roles with Lilly (on some other team) at some point. Beckham will be a once a week or twice a week guy and late-inning defensive guy at any of the infield positions. McDonald can get it out to center, but Adam Dunn can't...
  12. Leave it to the Sox to substantially lower the Boston bullpen ERA in this series. 4 innings of scoreless baseball so far this series. Us and the Twins have done a great job getting them going again.
  13. Great capper to the evening having to look at Nick Puntos f***ing ugly face.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) He destroyed that ball. Wind is howling in, which shows you how much Konerko crushed that ball. However, makes it even more frustrating that Danks was unable to challenge hitters due to his command. I was thinking the same thing.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) Jones was ready Not sure how in love I am with Jones (who is prone to walks) coming in there either.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) GMAB, by then it was already a 6-3 game. Big whoop. Wow...with our offense? You're insinuating that the game is over at this point because we won't score enough for it to matter? Or you seriously don't have a problem with handing them add-on runs? I don't get this...
  17. Glad Bard had to throw 5 pitches that inning. Wouldn't wanna tap that bullpen too early.
  18. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 08:40 PM) Dear Mr. Danks, Don't give it right back. Thanks
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 08:44 PM) this ump blows Sure does seem to be giving Bard those borderline ones...
