  1. we getting this one in? Looks like crappy weather later
  2. I have more trust in him starting a clean 9th Than the situation he was put in today. You also have crochet and if need be kopech in extras. Get to extras with the weird extra inning rule and see what happens. At some point he will need to be trusted in those situations. Better to find out now. Its not unheard of to have a closer pitch in a non save situation. To assume he would be wild starting a clean inning is not fair. The 2 scenarios require two different mind sets. Closers are weird. You put them in best possible situation to succeed and that was not it
  3. if thats the case then there is an over arching question. You seem to believe Hendriks cant close. Thats a closer situation. Period. You dont bring in your closer with bases loaded in the 9th and 1 out. He starts the inning. Did the same thing with Marshall last night and same outcome
  4. your hypotheticals are ridiculous
  5. Dont think you can assume he would have come in in a clean inning and been wild. No runners on compared to bases loaded and 1 out are 2 very distinct experiences.
  6. again missing the point. Hendriks should have started the 9th. You know Closers can pitch in non save situations right? especially with randomness of extra inning rule with runner on 2nd. You still had crochet who could pitch 10th if need be. Every closer will tell you they liked coming in clean innings. I would have had no problem going with hendriks in 9th and if he blows it thats on Liam not on TLR.
  7. completely missing the point. You bring in Hendriks with a clean inning. Not with bases loaded and 1 out.
  8. said exact same thing yesterday i believe
  9. not in the 9th in a tie game they dont. They go to their closer . Especially with the runner on 2nd rule in extras
  10. Exactly. Now hendriks so he can get walked off. Great for his confidence
  11. waste of a pinch runner. Bottom 3rd wont do shit
  12. gotta get em here before chapman
  13. That will do it
  14. Need this game with Cole going tomorrow
