  1. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) white sox are about the future and not about now. How about both?
  2. What we need to use money on is a LH bat.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 06:13 PM) A potential starter at catcher in MLB at some point. Flowers is not one, or at least not a decent one. Then no
  4. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 06:05 PM) *You're Sorry, pet peeve. Thanks for wasting a post on that.
  5. Crap load of right handed bats at the bottom of the lineup
  6. http://hufffreehiphop.com/lance-barrett-to...ff-again-video/ Im going to miss this "Your ****ing brutal!"
  7. Thanks AJ for 2005 and the many years after. Always will be one of my favorite players in the league.
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) Miguel Olivo, Kelly Shoppach That's, like, it. Im fine with Olivo
  9. All I can say to Hahn is we need to get a veteran backup in here.If we go into the season with Flowers and Gimenez as catchers Im going to puke.
  10. QUOTE (Sockin @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 04:32 PM) Looks like he's heading to Texas. ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Sources: Pierzynski, #Rangers closing in on one-year contract. Deal will be pending a physical, not yet done. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/281888421138534400 Welp lets find out what Flower's is made of. Either were going to have a hole or a good catcher for a while.
  11. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 12:19 PM) out of curiosity, who anointed you the messenger? himself
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 12:13 PM) Don't forget, Marty is the guy who said the entire season the Sox had no chance, they need to rebuild. Now he's blaming it all on Viciedo. He needs some help. Alot of help
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 11:53 AM) There was an article where some of his teammates (who supposedly hate him) said there was zero chance AJ was on the juice. Supposedly, he is afraid to take any supplements. AJ is a big strong guy. He altered his approach. A little less contact, more home runs. I think a 1 percent chance is a pretty good number to put on it.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) Not great, but it also sticks in my mind that AJ is the type of guy who will pretty much do anything to win. Yeah I was thinking about this last night.I certainly think there is a chance.
  15. What does everyone think the chances are that AJ was cheating?
  16. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 11:36 AM) i haven't been following the thread - has Marty been arguing this for a while? Oh yes there was a huge argument over this.
  17. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 11:33 AM) based on what? Can we please not start this crap again?
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 12:02 PM) Good point! Exactly which is why Im not buying this at all. I've heard nothing of this offer anywhere else.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 19, 2012 -> 11:02 AM) It is the starting point. It is the ending point. They won't negotiate. If he wants to come back, he can; if not, thanks for the memories. Well thank you Rick Hahn for sharing this information with us. Oh wait....your not Rick.
  20. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 03:40 PM) I understand your position. I wonder if we aren't waiting to see who remains in the FA market after some of the bigger names get signed? There might be some real talent and bargains left out there that can upgrade a team and help them contend and you don't break the bank. I see another good relief pitcher being needed and bench strength I think there is without a doubt we are going after relief pitching.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 03:37 PM) It would be really, really nice if we had a LH hitting backup to pair with him, but that's not AJ. You're not making AJ a backup at this point in his career Absolutely not and I completely understand that.
  22. QUOTE (Lamar Johnson 23 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 03:35 PM) How can you say you have no problem starting Flowers, then say you think he'll be a total bust? If you want to find out what he has then fine. I understand completely why they want to do it. Its just my personal opinion that he wont amount to anything which is why I want a veteran backup catcher.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 03:24 PM) That's a pretty big assumption, which I am not willing to fully accept at this time. AJ is a 35 year old catcher, who has had the heaviest catching workload in all of baseball for a while now. He is also coming off of a career year, that might require a pretty big contract to bring back. Add to that we have a half of a million dollar catcher on the roster, who at very least, seems to be much better defensively and throwing, already... This probably isn't the best usage of funds for the White Sox. I have no problem with starting Flowers at catcher. I just dont want that to be our only option if that fails(veteran backup would be nice). I know there alot on here looking at his upside. His downside could be pretty ugly. To be honest I think he is going to be complete bust.
