  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 01:47 PM) Will this finally be the year where we learn how to pitch to Royals hitters? We can only hope
  2. Glad its finally here Kurt Russell avatar is back!
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 28, 2013 -> 05:07 PM) Hopefully neither, but getting a lefty hitter than can play for Flowers against the tough righties in the division would be great. We talked about this briefly in another thread, but the bench as it stands right now is awful and I'm not quite sure what the front office is thinking. Yeah this bench is pretty terrible. It could certainly hamper us throughout the season if this doesnt change.
  4. Great....another argument about Dayan Viciedo
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 02:11 PM) Oh god. This was my reaction as well...
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 08:26 PM) That's a terrible bench, but thankfully a few additions are likely to be added to it Yeah I expect a few names to be added to the bench.....but as its sorted right now...that list is awful.
  7. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Both #WhiteSox and #RedSox also scouted Javier Vazquez tonight. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal
  8. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Dec 23, 2012 -> 09:46 PM) clairty on kubel or white sox making a move? Yes to both
  9. I think there will be a little more clarity on this next week.
  10. Steve Gilbert ‏@SteveGilbertMLB Possibly. They would like to add outfielder. RT @ImDaBaron White Sox in talks for Kubel? https://twitter.com/SteveGilbertMLB
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 03:06 PM) @DKnobler now saying: White Sox have talked about Kubel. Also had talks about Upton earlier in winter, when Diamondbacks asked about Alexei Ramirez. There ya go
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 01:31 PM) Because he will be facing Sox pitching if the Sox trade for him, right? yep that certainly one of the problems with his argument.
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) Hooray sample sizes. Yep just thought it was interesting. I think this is all academic anyway. Dont see it happening.
  14. George Ofman ‏@georgeofman Here are Kubel's numbers at the cell. 133 AB,.270, 14HR, 41RBI. Triple the ABs and see what you get. https://twitter.com/georgeofman
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 12:35 PM) The absolute best scenario I see in any acquisition with Kubel involved is if we send Floyd to Arizona and get Kubel back. Then we platoon Kubel with Viciedo. Viciedo mashes lefties, Kubel mashes righties. That could be an awesome platoon. I can handle Kubel in two out of every three games in left field. But if Kubel replaces Rios, I'm going to puke. Yeah your scenario works out pretty well actually. Dont see that happening though.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) I think a lot of people on this board absolutely despise Jason Kubel. But that's beside the point. One, you're talking about acquiring another guy who is basically a DH. We already have 1.5 of those in Dunn and Konerko. Two, if you plan on playing him in the outfield, he better be 2008 Carlos Quentin, because he is straight up bad in the OF. Three, he'll never be 2008 Carlos Quentin because he's got a career OPS under .800. His last season was also incredibly inconsistent and he didn't hit all that well on the road. Not to mention he's more or less a platoon player with how well he hits righties vs. lefties. Jason Kubel doesn't make this team better if he's replacing Alex Rios (he makes it a lot worse in fact) and he doesn't even make it better by replacing Dayan Viciedo. Unless he can play 3B and play 3B well (or catcher), he's not a good acquisition for this team. I think he would be replacing Rios. Your options are limited when it comes to LH bats.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 12:13 PM) No. I f***ing hate that guy. Plus he's not that good. 1. Who cares? 2. Thats not true
  18. Yeah I thought about Kubel immediately after Ross signed. Sounds like a plan.
  19. Didnt see this posted anywhere DKnobler ‏@DKnobler White Sox are looking around for a left-handed hitter. Also have let it be known (again) that Gavin Floyd is available. https://twitter.com/DKnobler
  20. QUOTE (Lamar Johnson 23 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) Ok...I'll play your (stupid) sematics game, who do you think is a BETTER BASEBALL PLAYER, John Danks or Victor Martinez? Russell Wilson
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 10:44 AM) Actually id take Pablo Sandoval
  22. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 10:19 AM) Baron, what should I preface my comments with? Stop speaking with certainty. It annoys the crap out of me.
  23. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 10:00 AM) All due respect Baron, you don't have to be a genius to realize the Sox would like to shed salary. I think if someone called and said they wanted to take Danks off their hands, I have a strong feeling they'd listen. That doesnt mean you know anything for a fact. That's called an assumption. You know what they say about those right?
  24. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 09:50 AM) They want to shed salary, but nobody wants to take on Thornton's. Do you think they could get more for Veal or Thornton in a deal right now? Please for the love of God do not tell anyone what the organization wants. You dont have the slightest clue.
  25. Hopefully we get some movement tomorrow
