  1. Woj is reporting Channing Frye is heading to the Clippers for Lance Stephenson, CJ Wilcox and a 2nd rounder if they can't pull off a larger deal by Wednesday. Orlando's going to waive Stephenson straight afterwards as well. I wonder if he'll head back to Indiana actually if that's the case. Probably makes sense for both parties.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 16, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) Sorry DBAHO, you are stuck with Jennings now I've got mixed thoughts on this deal, even though most people are calling it a win for Detroit. Been able to watch Harris this season with the NBA League Pass, and he's definitely gone backwards from where he was last season. His 3PT% is down, not scoring as much, and he's a real tweener, I don't see him being able to play as a stretch 4, because he's pretty average defensively. So even with a rising cap next season, I don't think he's worth the $16M a season he gets, and I'd rather give that money (but hopefully not all of it) to Evan Fournier in the off-season, and more playing to Hezonja going forward. Now as for what we got, it's a pretty average return. But Jennings and Ilyasova have both played under Skiles before and done decently, so hopefully they'll improve. And we really need a backup PG in the worst way, CJ Watson has been injured all season, and Shabazz Napier is horrible, hell we had to play Hezonja as a backup PG for a while. I would have preferred to hang onto Harris to the off-season to try and use him to get a Blake Griffin etc., but Orlando ownership apparently has a mandate to make the playoffs this season, so Hennigan is making a deal to help in the short-term, and they're both potential expiring contracts as well.
  3. There's a rumor going around that the Bulls and Magic discussed a Jimmy Butler for Victor Oladipo, a 1st rounder and another player, but the Magic turned it down. Would Bulls fans do it if it was say Oladipo, Tobias Harris, Andrew Nicholson and the Lakers pick in 2017 for Butler and Portis?
  4. So non Bulls related, Houston lost pretty badly to Portland last night, Howard, Harden, Morey and Bickerstaff all had a meeting after the game and now Dwight Howard is apparently getting shopped. I think Howard probably told em it wasn't working, and he can't play with Harden as the Alpha Dog anymore and he was going to use his ETO. My guess is if he's dealt, he ends up in Brooklyn for Lopez + something, or to Miami for Whiteside and bad contracts potentially.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 10:38 PM) What he do? Hit a few 3's late to get the Magic game to OT which they ended up winning. Interesting side note though, the Bulls have been after a wing all season, and the Magic are listening to offers for Tobias Harris now. Wonder if he'd fit what Chicago would be after there, I mean he can play the 4 spot in a smallball lineup as well. Probably a lot depends on whether they think his 4/64 contract is value for money and what it'd cost to get him (we're after veteran players who can make a difference now apparently.....)
  6. So did anyone else yesterday see the tweets that D'Angelo Russell could be had because they like Clarkson better as a long term PG option? Firstly, they're probably kicking themselves they didn't take Porzingis at #2. Secondly, and this would never happen, the Bulls should dangle Rose, the Lakers want stars, and to get one in free agency they probably need to trade for one first. Interesting to speculate about though I suppose...
  7. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 11:53 PM) Nah, they had lost 6 of 8 entering this game. They're still a mess. Yeah I actually meant how they went on a winning streak after that game, but as you've said they haven't done too well lately before last night.
  8. I remember when they lost to Brooklyn at home a few weeks back, and credit to Hoiberg and Bulls they've certainly turned it around since then. Looks like starting Gibson at PF has definitely helped, just gives them a bit of extra defense / toughness at the 4 spot, and then Mirotic can come off the bench and concentrate on scoring against the 2nd unit which is probably more his go currently.
  9. If only Mirotic could play on the road every game for the rest of this season.
  10. Sigh I'm not sure Orlando even hit Double Figures as a team in Free Throws today in London. We are so crying out for a player like Jimmy Butler. Chicago's very lucky to have him.
  11. The Eastern Conference is actually looking pretty good right now, the best it's been in years. Orlando's actually had the best record in the East since they made the lineup change of moving Oladipo as a 6th man, think they've gone 14-5 from that point onwards. I'd assume this season all of the East Teams who make the playoffs should be above .500 for a change....
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 12:41 PM) Bulls evidently dangling Taj / Noah to get a wing. Per WOJ. http://www.blogabull.com/2015/12/23/106588...-to-find-a-wing Wonder if the Bulls would trade one of those contracts for Joe Johnson's ending deal. Otherwise someone like Gallinari from the Nuggets is probably who I figure they'd like to target as a 3, someone who can shoot and is a good ball handler.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 05:50 AM) He has a no trade. Wondering if he'd waive that though to move to a contender if the Bulls are around the .500 mark come February.
  14. Zach Lowe is a fantastic writer as well, always has fantastic insight (good to see he's still plugging along after the Grantland collapse). One point he made was how Gasol's not really a good fit in this offense that Hoiberg wanted to implement, he wants more ball movement, and Gasol wants the ball more in the post. I could see him get moved to a team like Toronto at the deadline for some future picks, if the Bulls were willing to go down that route.
  15. QUOTE (Boogua @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 02:51 PM) Do you think Jimmy Butler could be the best player on a championship team? Hard to imagine. Well I mean Kawhi Leonard could be the best player on a championship team this season. Not that I'm saying Butler is at Leonard's level though (Leonard is argubly top 5 now if you consider how good he is defensively). EDIT: This is why you shouldn't quote things 2 pages earlier, when you read through all the subsequent responses. Oh well......
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 01:51 PM) Seems like Man U is interested. People are getting tired of Van Gaal mis-using his best players. Yeah I think Van Gaal has to win at least 1 of the Boxing Day Fixtures to keep his job. Pep Guardiola is made for that job I reckon, but it seems like City have him signed up already for next season. If Mourinho got the Man Utd job, it would mean players like Juan Mata would probably be straight out the door.
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) Lol at Stacey King and Funk acting like the Nets don't suck. That team is f***ing garbage. One of the worst offensive teams in the league and they suck on D as well. Yeah we beat them by 25 at Barclays last week so they're not very good at all. Defensively, it looks like they've really lost a lot with Thibs and Adrian Griffin (Chicago should have done all they could to hang onto him BTW) moving on.
  18. Should have fouled as soon as they got that offensive rebound.
  19. So non Hawks related, I'm in Boston for Christmas, and I'm after Bruins Tickets for their game on Saturday Night. Unfortunately the cheapest I can find so far is $130. Is anyone aware of any other Ticketing Sites besides the usual ones (Stubhub etc.)?
  20. Haha, DeRozan just hit a game winning 3 Pointer but Dwayne Casey had called a Timeout 1 sec before, the Youtube Video will be hilarious for this.
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) His last interview pretty much sealed the deal. The team doesn't want to play for him anymore. It's so weird that they can go from first to near relegation in such a short amount of time. He's just not viable as a long - term manager for any club now. Eventually the players get alienated with him and his management style, it happened at Real Madrid where the likes of Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas basically revolted against him, and the same thing happened here with the likes of Fabregas and Hazard. I think he'll end up at PSG next season, but I don't see him as a "top manager" anymore.
  22. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 08:06 AM) To be fair, his lower 2015-2016 shooting % is due to the fact that he now takes 4.0 3-pointers a game at 30%, as opposed to 0.0 per game for the rest of his career. Yeah to me that was a weird sort of thing for him to be doing. I mean he's a good low post player, why all of a sudden try to become more like a stretch 4? There are so few NBA players today who are actually good low post players now, it's all about spacing, ball movement and shooting....
