  1. Oh I'm goin to hav a friggin field day with this, and I'm going to put in FA signings as well; 1) The Randy Johnson Trade (Garland, Konerko and Anderson or Sweeney) 2) Trading for Jay Gibbons (since the O's resigned him for a year) 3) Signing Crisitan Guzman 4) Signing Russ Ortiz 5) Signing Eric Milton 6) Signing Jaret Wright 7) Trading for Alfonso Soriano 8) Signing Orlando Cabrera 9) Signing Derek Lowe to a big contract 10) Trading for Jerry Hairston instead of Scott Podsednik 11) Re-signing Maggilo Ordonez 12) Re-signing Scott Schoeneweis By now you know where most of these "ideas" are coming from;
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) Yes, they do in fact say Mate in Australia. Probably more so than buddy or friend etc. especially if you are a dude. You don't really hear females saying mate much.

    QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) Elisha Cuthbert Hands Off......
  4. El Duque was never going to be replaced anyways, even though it may not please some of the "natives" around here.
  5. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 01:57 AM) Any chance he mentioned us, seeing as we are some 12 games ahead of them? I can hear Ozzie cursing from down here as we speak......
  6. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) Can someone pull up his numbers just hitting behind Frank? April - .218/.320/.494 May - .227/.350/.433 June - .362/.455/.638 He's still brutal against lefties though; .185/.343/.426. Considering how bad our team is against righties, there's probably a better than even money chance that Konerko stays with the Sox after this season. He's a risky player to have on a long term deal though. If he starts pulling the ball, well he won't be effective as a cleanup hitter, and he's streaky as hell.
  7. Just don't let Mr. Choi hit any homers, keep Kent and Drew quiet, and they pretty much have almost no offense.
  8. Somewhere Scott Bora$$ is laughing and counting his pennies..........
  9. From USAtoday so it's probably not a credible source, but still take it FWIW;
  10. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) Guillen: "There aren't too many Joe Credes out there" I agree with the coach here. I have yet to see a single MLB player that is as dumb as this guy. This guy gets the off speed low and outside and he goes fishing every single time trying to put it in the LF seats.....result = K or a pop up or if lucky a foul to only see it happen again Miguel Olivo, Aaron Boone, Cristian Guzman, Royce Clayton etc.
  11. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) If he can get his AVG up to .260, I'd be fine with Crede as our everyday 3rd baseman. He has currently at .241. Just imagine if he didn't hit as bad as .181 in May (a bit over .200 instead), he's probably be at around .260.
  12. I hate to think of the consequences if Paulie is resigned to a big contract while Frank is let go for next season and beyond.
  13. Reports are saying 70 students have been taken hostage at a Cambodian School. More news to follow.....
  14. Joe Crede this month - .281/.395/.656 I said in another post the next month and a half are extremely important for Crede, When he has success (as he has done this month and April), he cuts down on the K's (14 combined). When he sucked it up in May, he had 17.
  15. From minorleagueball.com, he'll probably do our other draftees in the next few days;
  16. He won something like 14 games last season right? Tomo Ohka also pitched a shutout last night for the Brewers.
  17. QUOTE(Jake @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) Well we know that there likely will be a need for a new fifth starter, and BMac struggling, don't you think Neal Cotts might be able to return to a starter's role? He's sure earned a shot in my book. My only concern is does he have enough pitches? He's having success as our main set-up lefty guy, don't mess with his head, leave him in his spot.
  18. Still waiting on that 2nd question by the way..............
  19. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) Are you serious? I never knew that. Thanks Rowand44 I'll try and change it for you if you would like.
  20. Tell us a bit about Richard Brooks and if he signs, how quickly could he advance through the system? How have the Sox increased their scouting in the Domincan Republic over the past few years? Any chances of this increasing to other baseball areas such as Australia? Can you update us on the condition of Tyler Lumsden, and how advanced is he with his pitches compared to the other big lefties in the system in Liotta and Gonzalez? Wes Whisler has been struggling a bit lately with the Warthogs. Is he more of a boom or bust prospect compared to the other "name" pitchers in the system? How is Francisco Hernandez handling low A ball? Is he starting to improve day by day, and are the comparisons to Victor Martinez still on the money? Is Matt Nachreiner still slated to pitch in rookie ball again this season? How have you seen Adam Ricks season thus far? Are you impressed with his OBP and the amount of walks he's taking despite the low BA? Long - term, does he still project to be a 2nd baseman? Why is Thomas Brice being converted into a pitcher? Is this because of the highly rated OF prospects in the levels above him? Which prospect has you been most impressed with this season, and is there a sleeper pick which you think we should keep an eye on in the future?
  21. To the offense, Cotts, and Politte!!!!
