  1. Timo Perez - .212/.268/.571 Willie Harris - .237/.328/.566 Just putting that out there. There would be a market for Harris, and he could probably be a starting 2nd baseman on some teams. Considering he has minor league options left though, we won't be trading him.
  2. Damn I really wish this game came out down under.
  3. Pretty cool. Looks like Malone pitched well again giving up 3 runs as the Barons won.
  4. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Sox need another bullpen arm. What about this lefty Perisho that was designated by Florida, has someone picked him up? Seems to me he was pitching pretty well down there. It might be Bajenaru, he is still pitching well. Looks to me like Hermanson needs a couple of days off. The home run pitch was crushed, the next hit was a bloop but the last base hit was pretty well smoked. It was bound to happen but you cannot expect to win when you just score one run. On the Konerko play at the plate, it was bang bang and since the throw beat him by 10 feet I'm not surprised he was called out. The ump was in proper position as well. Either way someone would have been hot under the collar, Konerko or the Padres. On Perisho we do have an open spot on the 40 man roster. A guy with a 2-0 record with a 1.93 ERA in 24 outings;
  5. Have a great one Dan!!! Keep the poker nights going!
  6. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Do you think Nevin considers the Indians one of the best teams, because they just got swept by them before we came to San Diego. Does it matter what he thinks of us or anyone else for that case, as long as this team keeps winning, people will have to accept the fact that we are a good team. Nevin's probably still cooling off from the tag play on Friday and getting called out on strikes last night.
  7. Florida is around .500 ball, not bad but not good enough with the pitching staff they have. Here's a blurb from the Southtown;
  8. From the Southtown; Frank also doesn't know if this year's team is better than the 93 one;
  9. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) You know, DBAH0... I bet us Soxtalk members could pool some fundage to get you a plane ticket to Chicago from Phoenix; so that you could see a game. I've checked the schedule and unfortunately it ain't looking too good on that regard. I'll be stuck in the house a lot during the week because my Dad will be working in the city in Phoenix, and I can't drive around, so although I might get some weekdays free, probably won't be enough. And on the weekends, most of the Sox games are played away from Chicago. There's 1 series at Oakland that they are playing at, but I wanna check out places like Las Vegas as well. I will be attending some D-Backs and Angels games though.
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) You are not looking at the bright side of things though... we will still have vizcaino and shingo. Hey you Vizcaino going into this season because of his splits against lefties.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) Baj doesn't strike me as the type of guy that Ozzie would be willing to take a chance on. Ozzie seems to like to trust his veterans. Only way Baj gets called up is if one of our relievers go on the DL. Which in other words means "It ain't gonna happen". Hell, they'd probably give Adkins a shot before Baj.
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) Then he will turn into gary majewski. And that wouldn't suprise me at all. There's so many teams out there looking for bullpen help anywhere, that there'll be some teams at the deadline inquiring about Baj.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) Walker should never be brought up to the major league team. It's obvious that he doesn't have good stuff or command anymore. Well when Marte got injured, the thinking was from the Sox Brass that Walker could get called up if Marte went to the DL because "He's a Lefty". That's BS.
  14. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) Gave up one run in three innings i believe. The second question you asked i am guessing would be a no. He's not going to save our bullpen, if that's the line of thinking. But he deserves a chance in a Major League Bullpen somewhere, and I'm starying to get the feeling, it may not be with us.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) How did Baj perform in ST? I still think that he didn't exactly impress Ozzie last season, and he'll have a difficult time getting a call-up without an injury to a reliever. Is Baj really the long-term answer to our relief problem for the stretch run this season? I can't recall how he did in ST actually. But even last year when he was gettin hit in September, a lot of them were bloop singles and unlucky hits etc. IIRC, but I could be wrong on that. But still the fact remains; Baj - 1-1, 0.85 ERA, 35 K's, 15 BB's. Kevin Walker - 0-1, 5.17 ERA, 20 K's, 10 BB's. If we call up another reliever, do not use this stupid excuse that it was Walker because "He is a lefty". He can't even get lefties out. Baj has the numbers on the board in AAA, and that has to count for something.
  16. Jeff Bajenaru. There you go I've said it.
  17. DBAHO

    Hermanson

    Once again, I would just like to voice the fact that I am the ORIGINAL Neal Cotts backer, no matter what others may say. (And that means you Qwerty)
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 06:18 PM) Some tasty vegetmite around those parts i hear. Your favorite I hear.
  19. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 06:43 AM) i'm usually quite full after a 6 inch. Guess that's why i'm skinny as hell. Prob not as skinny as the Aussie. I had 2 crumpets for lunch today, given the lack of options in the house. It'll be interesting to see what I'll have to eat in Phoenix though every-day, since I'll probably be the only one in the house during the week (mornings and afternoons). Any suggestions on any food I just MUST taste while I'm over?
  20. QUOTE(ReinsdorfSucks @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) you're like 8 years old right? i hope so. if not, it's sad. Personal Attacks will not get you far around here.
  21. QUOTE(ReinsdorfSucks @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) inventive move. bring in a fastball pitcher to throw offspeed stuff Hate to say OWNED, but ya know.......
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) Buehrle had Nevin on a string with his offspeed stuff all game. Nevin loves the fastball, and we bring in a fastball pitcher in Politte. Ozzie's putting his ass on the line with this move. And yet Nevin sucks against righties doesn't he?
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) I don't have a problem with Buehrle staying in the game to hit. I have a problem with Ozzie making him bunt, especially on a 2 strike count. Let him swing away. He made contact in two AB's. He even hit a deep fly. Yeah don't have a go at Ozzie for letting Buerhle stay in, but the decision to let him bunt on 2 strikes was not a good one.
  24. Guys try and cut out the negativity as much as possible please.
  25. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) If Buehrle makes it out of this inning, his pitch count is going to be high. He's at about 100 now, I'd say 115 would probably be around his limit.
