  1. See I've got no problems with calling out the Neal Cotts haters, because over his past 11 appearances, he has only given up 1 ER. But calling out the Timo haters because he got 1 pinch hit single, boggles the mind. We could show Timo's numbers as a pinch hitter too.
  2. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) look under futuresox forum. ^^. Merging it now.
  3. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) well timo shut everyone up. (ps: i'm not a timo backer) Hey I'm suprised he didn't K, which he seemed to do every PH he's been up at lately. Good for Timo.
  4. OT: Zack Grienke in Arizona tonight. 4.1 IP, 15H, 11ER. Ouch.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) We're going to see Cotts in the 8th. Padres have a ton of lefties at the top of their order. I have no problem with Cotts being put in, but Ozzie needs to be proactive, rather than reactive if Cotts looks anything less than sharp. Cotts doesn't have the best splits against lefties this season, just throwing that out there FWIW. But I'm very confident he'll get the job done still.
  6. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) Crede's coming around, I'm tellin ya. Cruddy? That's impossible.
  7. Ok time to get Jon out of there, 4 straight hits.
  8. Ok B-Ham's recap is sure gonna be interesting.
  9. I hope he's back for the 24th series in Arizona so I can boo his ass in person. Then my Dad would probably ask me why the hell I'm doing that? So I educate him on the story of Maggilo and Scott Bora$$.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) LMAO.. my girlfriend who works near Tiffany's said Johnny Damon and his wife were in there this morning. What no Scott Bora$$ in there advising him?

  12. Don't make Tom Cruise jump up on a couch again please.
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) I agree. Just feels so damn good to have a solid bullpen. We haven't had one since 2000. And it's such a key part of a team's success. Look at the Indians from 2004. They had a great offense and even some good starting pitching from their front half of their rotation, but what killed them was the fact their bullpen was just so damn bad. The Twins have been so successful for a number of years and a main one is their bullpen. If they ahead by 1 run going into 7th, you can almost say game over. If they are behind by 1 run going into the 7th, you know they have a very good chance at just coming back over the top. The Rockies pretty much showed from the last series how bad it is to have a bullpen that well just ain't that good.
  14. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) I would think that the reasons for a closed or merged thread would be fairly obvious. Also, I do not understand this concept of "ownership" of a thread by the person that started it, as in ... "my thread was locked" .... once it's posted, it's everybody's thread. Well that was the whole reason for this thread starting in the first place. But in pretty much all cases, it's nobody's thread, it's everybodies, as YASNY has said.
  15. Hope you have a good 1!!! (And pinned for your partying pleasure)
  16. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) I hope this thread serves the purpose of educating some of the people that making these posts and threads as to what is considered quality and what is considered garbage. If you want to be a valued member of a quality Sox fan message board, then you'll heed the general advice within this thread, and in Heads' announcement, and you'll be welcomed with open arms. If you decide to ignore all of this and keep posting trash, you'll soon be as forgotten around around here as last summer's mosquito bites. qwerty, I agree with you. I'd guess "troll" as well. An occasional meaningful bump is one thing, but that was freakin' ridiculous. Of course the key message here is quality, not quantity. We are always trying to make our new members here feel welcome so this site can continue to grow, and we've brought up a welcome message that's pinned on PHT so they can read up on the things that they need to know. But of course, there's no reason to be bumping threads for no reason (that constitutes as spamming on some boards), or just posting stupid rumors. Just remember that if there's anything you have a question on or anything, we as in the mods and admin, are always contactable and we'll be happy to answer it for you.
  17. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) If we're talking about things that bug us, I would like to throw out the fact that notification on certain things is slow. Whether it be about suspension, a thread being closed, a warning, or any other type of thing, I think I'd like to see the entire mod and admin group do a better job of notifying people very shortly afterwards. That is all On threads being closed and say merged with other threads, we do try to make a post saying that we are going to close something if its inappropriate or the quality of it has just gone downhill. Of course if most of you wanted to, we could always PM that person who started the thread to let them know that we had to close or merge their thread, but that would happen quite a lot. Of course any feedback we get on this is good.
  18. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) Oh man. If Shingo and Luis can just get it going. This pen is gonna be so awesome. Even if 1 of them can't, we've got Jeff Bajernaru down at Charlotte who definitely deserves a chance. And then of course, there's the trade deadline, you know KW will probably get somebody.
  19. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 06:01 PM) Always have been a Cotts supporter, but I'm glad that if this is the case, they corrected a flaw in his windup approach. Cotts has been unbelievably lights out last 3 games...just looked like one of those relievers other teams don't want to face. Hitters are being froced to take swings at his pitches, even if they are out of the zone. Then of course he can come back and pitch one right on the outside or inside corner that can just freeze a hitter. Preston Wilson's AB 2 days ago was a PERFECT example of this really.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) So are you blaming the agent or the team? It would seem that the pressure is on the other agents to perform for their players as well Boras could ask for $60,000,000 for Crede but no team is going to pay it. Nothing really happens until some owner ponies up the cash. What if he was the only above average third baseman on the FA market and a team was DESPERATE for a third baseman?
  21. The key word there is "PAST" for all of you playing at home.
  22. What if I wear some White Sox uniform to a D-Backs game?
