QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 07:15 PM) The offense struggles and the starting pitching tires out. It's been a staple of Sox teams seemingly the entire 21st century, but I wonder how many other teams feel the same way? No, this team chokes. Plain and simple, it chokes.

I would trade Paulie this offseason. I know you wont get much for him but him as a 4 hitter just doesnt work anymotr and its obvious they will not move him down in the order.

Pathetic at bat after pathetic at bat.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 07:12 PM) And what did the Tigers do after they swept us last time? They basically fell apart. Are they weak mentally? Two days ago, after the Royals swept them, half the Tigers' fanbase was ready to give up. The season changes on a day by day, and inning by inning basis. 2-0 is far from an insurmountable lead. This team has a history of not manning up. I care less what the Tigers do. The SOx control their own destiny and they are chocking on their tiny nuts.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 07:10 PM) Jeez AJ, if you're going to get it in foul territory, don't fake the throw after it. He has been an absolute wreck for weeks now.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 07:09 PM) Were they going to bench Liriano, Peavy, Sale, or Quintana? They need to shut Q down.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) A staple of this GM's teams. I agree. They dont play to win, they play not to lose.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 07:07 PM) Sox aren't just losing games at Detroit, they're not even coming close to winning games there. No lead for more than a half an inning since the Dunn homer off of Valverde. The Sox are mentally weak. They do this always. They let teams get inside their heads. It isn't surprising at all.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 07:02 PM) Then they don't deserve anything Typical Sox. They don't man up in big games. Been like that for years now.

This one is over. Gonna get swept. This team is showing absolutely zero heart on this roadtrip and should be embarrassed.

Most important game of the year so far and I am gonna be forced to watch it at the home of a Cub fan and with a majority of Cub fans. It's our fantasy football draft tonight, Motherf***er.I pray for a win. Bringing my nunchucks, brass knucles and chinese stars just in case. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) Sox have let some of the worst players on Baltimore's roster destroy us this series. Q probably should be shut down for the season if KW can acquire another starting pitcher the next few days. I agree. On everything -

Williams has to pickup a starter on the waiver wire. Q looks like he has nothing left, he has hit a wall and Sale doesn't look much better. He needs to find someone out there. -

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 12:51 PM) It'd REALLY suck to lose 3 of 4 to the O's, after sweeping through Seattle at home. And yes, I know Baltimore is way better than Seattle. That doesn't mean we should be accepting of bad baseball. We swept the Yanks too. This team just sucks against Baltimore. Its been that way as long as I can remember. Having to play 4 in Baltimore after our homestand was just plain bad luck. -

If we make the playoffs, I pray we don't have to face Baltimore.
