  1. Rather than feeding him baloney sandwhiches in a 8x10 cell on the taxpayers dollars they shoulda just put him outta his misery. Why did he go through all the trouble of booby trapping his apartment, JUST to tell the feds about it when they got him...? Dumb SOB
  2. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 10:23 AM) Johnson, and I love that. Lets hope so. Whats his contract look like, anyone?
  3. Also agree with those who said young kids should not be in a theatre in midnight, that is besides the point though. Absolutely tragic
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 10:36 AM) I completely disagree. Red Sox still needed a hit in that situation to tie the game. Reed's big issue continues to be that outside of a change-up he never throws to righties, he has no pitch to change the eye level of the hitter. Everything things to be around the belt. Earlier in the year, I felt like he was utilizing the high fastball more effectively. Your point is well taken fathom, and since thats the case, maybe A.J. is to blame? He is the one calling the pitches afterall. I dont care to look back at whether Reed missed his spot or not on that pitch (too depressing) but that ball was RIGHT in Ross' wheelhouse. Seems like Thornton is rubbing off on Addison in "throw it as hard as you can everytime, consequences be damned."
  5. Short answer: defense and pitching wins championships. In that case, Sox >>>>> Tigers
  6. Depressing... What the hell is wrong with some people? Thoughts and prayers to victims & their families Edit: very surprised this guy was taken alive, wonder tlhow that went. Real justice woulda been one of those Coppers inserting 9 grams of lead into dudes temple, now this a**hole gets a trial and we get to hear about how he was a goody guy and would never do something like this, SMH...
  7. I really don't think blaming Reed is fair. He came into a situation that was already compromised, Robin coulda brought out anyone and we were still losing the game at that point. Beautiful thing about baseball is we get a chance to redeem ourselves in a big way this weekend.
  8. I would not give up anything valuable for him that's for sure, and probably have MIL eat some remaining money but some stupid GM most likely outbids that. He's been-there done-that before though in terms of penant race/pressure situations. Unlike our entire bullpen. Can't get Crain back soon enough
  9. Apparently Ross got a gatorade shower, that's laughable. Guess that's what its come down to in beantown nowadays Atleast we aren't as dysfunctional as they are
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) Look at his numbers, he has not been good at all. he only got the closers job because somehow Axford has been worse. Can't be worse than what we got though, right?
  11. Jonathon Sanchez from KC was DFA the other day. Wonder when well hear who he got claimed by, id take him at this point if nothing else a non rookie arm with good stuff outta the bullpen. Surely won't get to us tho
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 09:44 PM) you could see AGon's swings in that AB that he was trying to hit it right where he ended up hitting it. He(Gordon) had to hold the runner on second
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 09:27 PM) Someone with speed The bench has been a HUGE disappointment this season. Without looking up stats its safe to say we've had the least productive bench in the majors this year. By far. Save Hudsons walk-off, they haven't done a damn thing all year.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 09:37 PM) Trading Viciedo is idiotic and it doesn't matter how many rental players names are come up with, they will all be stupid. The only ones that make ANY sense are Garza, Hamels and Greinke, and it will be another decade or more before JR agrees to shell out $20-30 million per season on a contract for a pitcher lasting 5 years or longer. So that nullifies all but Garza. But it's the same thing we went through with Hudson for Jackson, 1 1/2 seasons (actually, it was just one because they had to deal him to eat Teahen's ill-advised contract)...trading Viciedo for Garza, then watching him put up 30-40 homers per year along with Rizzo, no thanks. Danks was a mistake. They're not going to compound it by doubling down. QFT
  15. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) Surprised no one mentions that Edwardo Escobar, does not make a routine double play, if he can't do that, what exactly is he doing on this team? been covered. Hes supposed to be up here for his defense... Really?
  16. gotta call out the offense, too. Been anemic past few days, waste an absolute gem by Quintana because we only scored once for him. Not gonna cut it.
  17. Gonna find out what this team is made of this weekend. Time to put your big-boy pants on guys. EDIT: I suggest no ESPN for the next 24 hours, this will be dubbed the turning point in their season, Bobby V is a genius and the east coast nut hugging will reach new, never seen before heights
  18. Not Addison's fault at all. He was hung high and dry, never shoulda got to that point. Somebody needs talk some sense into Robin, not sure if Parent or Coop have yet but this is ridiculous, honestly. Can't wait to hear Rangers lame ass excuses for Robin
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 08:53 PM) Routine grounder if Escobar didn't choke. AJ has yet to call for an offspeed pitch. Great point. BoSox = great fastball hitting team, just like us. gets him to 0-2 and still chucking it right over the plate. Not that Thornton has an off speed pitch worth a damn, tho
  20. This is a f***ing joke. Just gonna leave Thornton out there to choke this one away, huh?
  21. What the **** EE! If he can't field or shrinks in the clutch then he is wasting a roster spot.
