  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 12:35 PM) The funny thing is that Pedro was not exactly the "meat and potatoes" of that deal Exactly. Here is Pedro making his ML debut before Nestor. Albeit Molina just came off a stint on the DL, surely if the sox really wanted him to be the guy today they could have sat him yesterday and used him today. With Molina's seemingly inability to miss a bat in the minors this year (.322 oBA), Pedro may very well end up being the meat and potatoes. Way to early to tell though. We shall see.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 11:05 AM) 6-4, 200. Just turned 16. Riiiiiiight.... My first thought too lol. With hundreds of thousands of dollars at stake for these kids, I wouldn't be surprised if just about every player coming from the DR/Cuba/S.A. has a few years trimmed off their age. Especially considering how easy it seems to be to get false documents and immigration papers (see Carmona, Fausto. Or whatever his real name is) Edit: 16 or 19 either way, good to see J.R. spending the international money
  3. What happens to Thompson? Moves to a corner spot? Maybe their doing this in preparation for Mitchell being shipped out and Trayce gets promoted? although one could argue he hardly deserves it with his 234 average. Congratulations to Keenyn, here's to hoping he can continue to produce for the Dash.
  4. Excited to watch Pedro's debut tonight, will be a tough test. This start could be a good measuring stick as to whether Hoyer and Co. pulled a fast one on us. Regardless of how he does I'm not going to get too high or too low on him, though.
  5. Looks like its gonna be another high pressure situation for another rookie outta the pen. This time it'll be Addisons turn. Take no prisoners.
  6. Excited to see this young man's debut tomorrow. iIRC, Bucholz (sp?) Named starter Thursday.
  7. LAA beating Detroit like the red headed step child that they are. 12-nil now. Now if our score holds and Tampa can get 3 more outs, back to 3.5 game lead. Yeas!
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) PenPals is not exactly scary or fiercesome. Something a little more forbidding would be helpful. You don't want anyone throwing 95-100 MPH to be your friend. Unless its Chris Sale.
  9. Nice inning by Omogrosso edit: MT37 warming
  10. Wonder if Robin learned his lesson last night and will go to Thornton for the 8th.
  11. Way to battle Phil. After that 1st inning it was looking like the same hit parade against him but he settled in very nicely. Great to see, were gonna need him down the stretch.
  12. Looking more like it... While his BB #s have substantialy improved - Ks have gotten worse, and thats a big problem for a player who projects as a leadoff hitter. At this point might as well try and turn him into an asset for the big club this year, even if it is just a rental especially with Trayce and Keenyn waiting in the wings
  13. Hawkins now a HR away from the cycle, with atleast another AB. Blair Walters with a very nice outing for WS. What is his prospect status/book on him? Obviously he's had a rough start to high A, but that could be expected with the jump in levels, no? He's been solid at every level before this, and the K numbers aren't bad. Mitchell also continues his slide, big goose egg and the K trifecta... Should we end up trading him this month wed be selling and his lowest value arguably...
  14. Humber appears to have settled in nicely ala Axlerod last night. Hopefully we can stretch him through 6. FWIW, Anibal Sanchez pitching against the cubs now.
  15. DeMichelle continues his tear with 3 more hits. Hawkins with acouple of hits, including a three bagger. Molina threw acouple clean innings. Hopefully just being cautious with it being his first start off the DL
  16. Sucks to lose this one with the way Dylan pitched and with Humber, TBA, TBA to finish out the series...
