  7. I also know of someone else who would want to join if we need someone
  8. Everyone is available on the royals. Really looking to deal some of my top veterans for some prospects.. Let me know if interested or just send me some offers
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 11:31 AM) So who is they mystery "lefty impact bat" that the Sox want to add? Cano? Mauer? is this some new news here? or just our speculation that we are going after a left-handed bat
  10. QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 10:15 AM) I don't want to lose De Aza. Gonzo mentions the Reds are interested in De Aza, maybe we can get them to overpay for him since they were after both Span & Revere and missed out. Todd Frazier for 3rd base would be an interesting option?..
  11. any word on if the sox are still at the Winter Meetings or have they left? i believe they end today right
  12. quick note.. Revere to the Phills is done. Really surprised to see them move Span and Revere in the same offseason
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 10:55 AM) They need pitching pretty badly. Revere to Phils: MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports that the Phillies have acquired outfielder Ben Revere from the Twins. It's not yet clear what the Twins are getting in return, but they've been on the hunt for young starting pitching. Revere will presumably start in center field for the Phillies in 2013. He batted .294/.333/.342 with 40 stolen bases in 124 games this past season for Minnesota. Source: MLBlogs.com
  14. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 11:05 AM) So Soxtalk has finally reached the point where the reigning Cy Young winner is not good enough for the rotation. That's quite an accomplishment. For the price he would cost in a trade, the extension he is due, and the age.. that is why I say no thanks..
  15. Also dont the Winter meetings end today? I seem to remember most teams take off after the Rule V draft in the late morning / early afternoon
  16. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) In a vacuum, I like Granderson a lot, but he's not a fit on a team that is already high on power and low on OBP. I do see a team that could take on the salary of Floyd and Thornton and has a guy the Sox might like. I believe his first name starts with R and his middle name starts with A. no thanks to RA
  17. With PK's contract up after this year we will have some money to spend next year that we could look into extending Granderson past this year
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) I think you have a package figured out although not sure Granderson is the target. If he was I would say there would be an OF getting dealt as well. Pure speculation I assume Rock on your end? Or are you hearing that is what the Sox are looking to package in a return? Other than pitching not sure what position we would be looking for now with Keppinger in the fold.
  19. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 10:51 AM) is Granderson actually considered at all available? Andrew Marchand of ESPN New York reports that the Yankees are listening to offers on Curtis Granderson. Phil Hughes and Ivan Nova are also reportedly being shopped. The Yankees are in serious cost-cutting mode with the hope of scooting comfortably under the luxury tax threshold prior to the start of the 2014 season. Granderson, 31, batted .232/.319/.492 with 43 home runs and 106 RBI in 160 games this summer for New York. He's owed a $15 million salary in 2013. Source: Andrew Marchand on Twitter
  20. QUOTE (rowand's rowdies @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 10:48 AM) Granderson for Floyd, Thornton, and Quintana? Let the Yankees add pitching and forget about the mistake they made by letting Quintana go and let them add bullpen help. We might get something else back in this deal, too. Thoughts? not sure it would take all 3 of them. floyd and thornton alone would have to interest them. then we could spin De Aza or Dayan for an upgrade somehere. possible package with beckham for a 2nd baseman or 3rd baseman. Dayan, Beckham a start to possibly Headley (with Keppinger than going to 2nd)
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 10:35 AM) Plus he is a guy the Sox wanted really bad when the Yankees got him. They noticed a flaw in his swing. I really do not want to move Alex for Granderson. Not sure they would have much interest in De Aza?? I too think Curtis would be a great fit in the cell
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 04:02 PM) I would say our young pitching is attracting a crowd, package that with a nice pen arm and maybe a halfway decent prospect or a starting OF'er and you may have something there. sounds like a package to go after Justin Upton. (dreaming I know)
