  1. would you guys be willing to give up Anderson in a trade for Wil Myers
  2. Not sure if this deserved a new thread, so feel free to move. But did anyone catch Mully & Hanley this morning (around 7) mention that the Sox are talking to the Rays about Longoria and/or Myers? I can not see the Rays dealing either of them considering they are both under control and good prices for years. But thought it was more than interesting? Rock and/or Bucket are you guys out there? Who is Rick eyeing up now? I still think he has to be after the guy he mentioned they targetted in the 3 team trade at the deadline because I cant think that it would have been Shark.
  3. QUOTE (OsweGo-Go Sox @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 07:43 AM) Wait. You think that's what Hahn did last offseason? i would be very interested in someone like Asdrubal Cabrera as a 2nd base option. No idea what the $$ would be
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 08:56 PM) And I believe they have a chance to extend him. And I believe this trade is close. Anything invoking additional pieces we could be trying to get with shark? Like reddick or a bullpen arm?
  5. rock if you are lurking (I saw you post in the sale thread).. Worth staying up a little late looking for some news tonight ...
  6. QUOTE (shysocks @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 02:06 PM) No question he's a better player than Moss but it seems Oakland is just giving their guys away like Oprah. In light of that, if it seems like we've overpaid for Samardzija it will just be upsetting, that's all. I am okay with giving up Anderson "IF" his is the only major piece we are giving up (lesser prospects included) AND we are getting back Reddick and one of the A's bullpen arms
  7. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 11:44 AM) MLB Network talking Sox / Shark after this commercial break. Seems to be some legs to it. I would not mind getting Reddick on the Southside along with Shark.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 11:36 AM) I think it makes a ton of sense from what I hear. Top of the rotation RHP, wants to be back in chicago, ties to the area, would possibly sign long term with the right team. if you can comment on it.. anyway we can land him without giving up Anderson
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 11:29 AM) I dont buy that at all. The Sox are in on him for longer term than that. Rock what is your gut/thoughts on this one? Think Rick can land him this week?
  10. i have been looking through the threads to see if the old reliables Bucket and/or Rock have posted any tips as to possible moves we may be looking into but have not found anything. have they dropped in for any hints the last week or so??
  11. Rock - anything new? looks like he will be making the start barring a last minute call. you thought he'd certainly be scratched about an hour ago. thanks for all you bring to the board man. really appreciate it!
  12. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 09:31 AM) http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/...0-mlb-prospects Keith Law's Top 50 is Insider protected. Here are the top 10: 1. Kris Bryant 3B Cubs 2. Byron Buxton OF Twins 3. Carlos Corea SS Astros 4. Addison Russell SS Cubs 5. Corey Seager 3B Dodgers 6. Francisco Lindor SS Indians 7. Jonathan Gray RHP Rockies 8. Javier Baez SS Cubs 9. Archie Bradley RHP Arizona 10. Carlos Rodon LHP White Sox Age: 21 | Current Level: Just drafted Preseason Ranking: N/A Rodon was the second-best prospect in this year's draft class, the best college player available, and one of the only players in the class with the ability to play in the majors this season. Rodon's slider is filthy, a grade-80 pitch in his best outings but more consistently a grade-70 pitch. It's a wipeout offering with late bite that I've seen hit 92 mph, even though his fastball is usually just 90-94. I can't imagine minor league hitters will be able to touch him. Rodon's stuff is so nasty he may not have to work much on fastball command or on developing a better changeup until he reaches the big leagues. DM me if you want the rest of the list. pretty impressive for Rodon to be a top 10 prospect in all of baseball already. We owe the Astros and Marlins an absolute huge favor and I think everyone will realize that within a couple years. Rodon-Sale-Q, could be something special like the A's had back in the early-mid 2000's (Zito, Mulder & Hudson)
  13. i have a feeling today is the day that Carlos Rodon officially becomes a member of the Chicago White Sox
  14. If we do not trade Rios, we likely do not have the money to sign Abreu. Also, if we do not trade Rios he may have resulted in an extra win or two the last couple months which would have put us picking behind the Cubs in the draft and we would not have Rodon. Great move by Rick Hahn to shed that salary.
  15. I will be checking this thread multiple times a day until Rodon or Adams signs. I am prepared for the wait of how long it may take
  16. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:03 PM) '13 & '14 Sox drafts should prove to be damn good. bucket.. confident they can get a deal done quickly with Rodon? hopefully they can get adams signed and keep him away from going to play for Georgia
  17. really hoping and thinking it will be Kolek. all the rumors linking us to Kolek the last week or so, what benefit would that give if he was really the guy in negotiations?? i just can not see Rick passing on Rodon, he has raved about him for months as has Doug
  18. Bucket or Rock, you guys lurking out there?? If Rodon is there at 3 do you believe we take him?
  19. Taking the train in or else that would be the option
  20. Headin to the game. Will be getting in around 2 and looking for the best bar to go to and have some adult beverages with a good and solid crowd.. Suggestions? Thanks fellas
  21. I actually a really intrigued and would really enjoy a 1-2 at the top of the lineup with eaton and saunders
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 01:33 PM) Nice tidbit! I think people are drastically understating Eaton. He was also ranked ahead of them both heading into last year in the dbacks top 10 prospects. A year ago today, we would have been laughed at and hung up on if we offered Hector for Eaton
  23. For all the people saying they'd much rather be getting Davidson or Owings. According to BA at the end of 2013 season Eaton is ranked ahead of them both on the Dbacks top 15 under 25 years old
  24. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 02:32 PM) K0na broke something on twitter last year or a couple years ago. I can't remember what it was though. EDIT: Looking through his twitter, he broke the Buehrle to TOR trade, the Danks extension, and the Peavy to SOX and Jon Garland trades as well. has he posted anything on here recently that I missed? i was wondering why his mention came up a couple of posts ago?
  25. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 02:02 PM) He/she has broke a lot of Sox news on the MLB.com forum for the last 5 or so years now, so I'd consider them a real source. Why? did K0Na post something recently? i have gone through the last few pages of this thread and not found anything??
