Shifts could be endangered
More pop ups, less seats and fans even further away from the players. Yippee.

Shifts could be endangered
The "just bunt or hit the opposite way against the shift" argument reminds me a lot of people saying that certain big men need to just practice free throws more or shoot them underhanded in order to improve their free throw percentage. It is much easier said than done. I don't think these players are willfully not trying to beat the shift via bunting or shortening their swing to hit it throw the shift. That is just really freaking hard to do consistently.

Here is where the Sox should spend
The Sox kept claiming that all the cash they had from the dirt low payrolls during the rebuild days would be used in the future. It will be disappointing if they cry poor and completely flop this free agency. I get that it was hard on everybody this year, but they were raking in cash during the rebuild.

People kept telling me Stiever + lands Nimmo. I doubt that is the case tbh, but I so that 100/100 times.

He will most definitely be up in 2021, and probably early in the season.

AJ Hinch: does it matter to you that he cheated?
Francona has had some significant health issues and is under contract with the Indians still. I'm sure everybody would like that pick if he was healthy and available, but he isn't. Nevermind, i see you were just answering somebody's question.

AJ Hinch: does it matter to you that he cheated?
He adds 10 more names to that list and we can call him caulfield

AJ Hinch: does it matter to you that he cheated?
So you expect all teams to not sign players that have used PEDs? They cheated after all. It's simple. The number 1 job of a team is to win. Teams regularly sign roiders. NFL teams even sign players who are guilty of beating their significant others and kids.

What would you have done ...
This example is as stupid as the one comparing the cheating scandal to dumping toxic waste into the Mississippi River. We are talking about a game here, not the murder or jailing of an innocent person. I'm sure you would have been the completely honorable whistleblower that goes against all those millionaires and the billionaire, all while sacrificing any chance of keeping your incredibly well paying dream job.

What would you have done ...
And this is absolutely true. If he throws his entire team under the bus, it is possible that no front office will trust him enough to hire. There goes his career and his means of living. How do you think it would go over if a manager spoke out about one of his players taking steroids? I really doubt anybody who hire that manager again after that. It's so easy for people here to be righteous when they aren't in the situation AJ Hinch was in. Would you really speak out against the team if it meant your career in baseball would end? Goodbye to all those years of hardwork. Goodbye to the likelihood of living lavishly and comfortable for the rest of your life. Get ready for a boring old 8-5 job. Most here would not speak out.

What would you have done ...
Humans generally fall in line. This is much easier said than done. I think most would go along with it, despite being displeased by it. Has anybody here been a part of hazing, whether it be sports related or fraternity related? Did you go along with it, or did you quit the frat/team because of it?

AJ Hinch basically poisoned the Mississippi River. Pass.

Mazara and Right Field Thread
I'm a dope and completely missed the thread title. I edited to add this above. Doesn't paint the same confidence. It scares me committing to to what Springer would want given his age, but the guy can mash. A lefty would be preferred, but those are far and few between.

Mazara and Right Field Thread
Everything Stone has been saying points to Hinch honestly. I'd be surprised if it isn't him. Regarding RF, Stone also said this:

Tony La Russa
I don't think looking at it from a WAR standpoint is the way to go. For example, putting Rodon in against the Indians with the bases loaded. The timing of it is what is so egregious. Put Bummer in there, and he probably gets that third out and has enough juice to pitch the 8th inning, like he did. How much would that blown opportunity be reflected in WAR? Very little I'd imagine. It did however cost the White Sox the game, one they should have won. It may be only -0.05 WAR, but that is a loss completely on Renteria.

Giolito items at Cooperstown
Very cool. When I read the line in Giolito's section that read "The White Sox hurler accomplished that feat in 101 pitches...", I couldn't help but think of this.
