Back to the topic, I do think Crochet gets traded now (I didn't before). The guy is going to get a ton of interest from teams from now to the deadline.
If SD wants him, I think they would have to part with Merrill. Something like Crochet and Pham for Merrill, Snelling, De Vries, and Kemp would entice me

When the kids start coming up is when I want Grifol gone. He's fine now because outside of Nastrini, Sosa, Leasure, Lee and Colas. There's nothing that is meaningful for the future (I think Crochet gets traded). Let him continue to embarrass this franchise and when the kids are ready, that's when you fire him. Might be in August, might be next year.

Schriffen is just as big of a clown as Grifol. This dude is extremely cringe worthy. He's trying to sound edgy and how kids talk nowadays. It's beyond awful.

This clown can't be gone any sooner. Easily one of the worst managers in franchise history

I hate to use Ricky as an example, but maybe getting someone who is more in tune with teaching is the right move. In his 200 plus games here, I can't think of a single player that has made progress at making themselves a higher baseball IQ player. We still have the same mistakes being made, the some cutoffs being missed, the same baserunning blunders, signs being missed etc. I can't say Pedro is the problem, but I sure can't say he isn't.
During this whole "championship window", Ricky Renteria blows TLR and Grifol out of the water.

This dude might be one of the dumbest baseball people I have ever seen. He loves bad baseball players. Let him finish 2024 and fire him into the sun next year.

Under no circumstance should Kopech be extended

Outside of the walks, Kopech is near unhittable out of the pen. He'll fetch something nice at the deadline if he keeps this up. Year and a half worth of control will be valuable.

Keep Ramos up. Mendick goes into utility role or starting 2B and send Shewmake down.
Shewmake and Lopez have no business being on an MLB team

Kopech will be traded.
Crochet only gets traded if a team overpays.

Last time Rosenthal wrote about a specific player was Juan Soto and he was traded a week later.
Cease will be gone soon, the question is to who? I believe it will be the O's or Yankees

If O's don't want to give up their prospects, I would immediately call the Reds as both them and the Cubs would miss out on Glasnow.
-
These are the packages I would accept from teams that are interested in Cease:
Reds: Lowder, Petty, Jorge, Starla (I loved this ask from Getz)
Braves: Kelenic, Grissom, AJSS, and Waldrep
Orioles: Cowser/Kjerstad, Mayo, Beavers
Dodgers: Rushing, Pages, De Paula, and Bruns

To me, Petty is younger than Lowder, further along in the system, and he thoroughly dominated last year at A+ and a little AA, albeit only 60 innings. Don't think Lowder has even thrown a professional pitch.
Lowder is a stud. Him and Petty in the same deal ++ would be a great Cease trade.

this guy nailed it.
That's not it at all. Every MLB insider has said the Sox will get a haul because of his durability, pitch ability, and contract status.
Bennett K has always and will always be a moron. That dude sucks- 4

I.e. add more to Busch and Stone/Frasso.
Hard no on Busch. Dude is already 26 years old with barely any MLB experience.
Give me Rushing, Pages, De Paula and Stone

ATL probably isn't going to trade Smith-Sharver. I think they are planning on having him in the rotation. Past that it's Waldrep who looks like he could be great but is a few years off and can't be the centerpiece. Past that? No one who's been past High A. Just not enough there imo, especially with all pitchers.
Then Atlanta isn't getting Cease. If they want Cease, Smith-Sharver has to be in the deal unless they include one of their position players currently on the MLB roster and they aren't going to do that.
-
I'm gonna guess it's going to be the Dodgers. They need a ton of pitching and can't afford to wait.
Cease for Rushing, Pages, De Paula and Bruns is going to be my guess
-
Soroka and Shuster will be in the rotation next year.
Lopez will be the starting 2B. Shewmake could be the starting SS to start the season too.
Gowens. If he does well, should be a fast riser through the system.
I'm fine with the trade. No bullpen piece during a rebuild should be making over 5 million anyway. Let the kids give it a go.
Now go trade Cease and Eloy
-
Lourdes Gurriel Jr makes 0 sense because he has been exclusively at 1B/LF his entire career.
Duvall could make sense because he can play all 3 OF positions
Gallo could play RF and hit 7/8 in the lineup. Sure
-
The Sox franchise is just the absolute worst in all of baseball. They do nothing well and now they can't even retain a homegrown, nationally known target. Truly pathetic
-
The Sox have no chance at competing next year. It's going to be another miserable year on contrary to what JR thinks.
I would expect to see Cease, Eloy, and TA traded this off season
-
Keeps getting worse lol

This thing needs to burn from the top down.
I'm fine with Grifol with Hahn and KW here because nothing would change.
Only way Grifol is gone is if these clowns are gone
