Love this trade. Castillo brings another veteran presence to the rotation. McDougal will replace Dominguez. Hagen will replace Chris Murphy

Why wouldn't we buy? Sox are two games up in the division and three games up in the WC. This offense can 100% win the AL. If they figure out the starting pitching, they can make some noise and be a legitimate threat.

We have to remember, Sox were playing with house money with Gonzalez. He was another bad year away from getting cut from the organization. They worked on his swing and turned him into an asset for the future. That's what good organizations do! And to be frank, I hope Gonzalez kills it in Pittsburgh. Kid deserves it after the changes he has made. It was just a solid baseball trade that helped both teams.

He's one year in the league with 23 HRs and 53 RBIs and a 772 OPS with good defense at a primary position. He's not getting traded.

Either way, he's going to be up this year, but I still believe his future is in the rotation. (I think if he never got hurt, he would already be in the rotation) Chris Murphy, he actually has been pretty good. The opener in Cleveland wasn't his fault outside of the HR. I get wanting an upgrade, but he hasn't been bad. Dominguez, he's on the team no matter what. Just use him in a different role when losing or up 5+ runs. Hicks has been fricken awesome. Start using him in different roles too. He has experience in that.

Two things 13 XBH's seems very light in a high school season. The Vahn Lackey love is hilarious to me. We love critiquing Roch's season, yet Lackey has had one good college year and has not hit well with wood at all in any of the summer leagues he has played in. It has to be Roch or Emerson, I would be pissed if they took a one year wonder in Lackey. I don't care about draft savings. Take the better player.

To be fair, the lineup is fun right now too. The addition of Braden and then getting Teel and Mune back will make this team have a top 5 lineup in all of baseball.

Exactly. We've gone high school quite a bit recently. Go Roch at 1.1 and then HS in rounds 2/3 and we're good with the influx of talent that we already have.

Roch has gotten a lot of prospect fatigue over the last week or so. Roch has a higher floor than Emerson and I think fits the timeline of the Sox better. Offensively, Sox are in an awesome position position player wise.

Make Murakami and Montgomery the faces of the franchise. The marketing and attendance alone will pay for the contract once this team gets good (they're already exciting). Only way I can see Hicks coming back is if some prospects are included on Boston's end. I'd rather keep Sosa than trade him for Hicks and some cash. Make Boston to send prospects over too Hicks is bad bad bad
