  1. Not confirmed, but all indications that Colas will sign with the White Sox.
  2. If Law thinks a pitcher is a reliever, he won't rank them high. He has a very different ranking with pitchers than other media outlets. Same thing happened with Fulmer too.
  3. See, I think it's the other way around. With Crochet's injury history and not much college success, if he struggles at all, it can sink fast. In general, for the Sox at 11, they would take Detmers over Crochet 10 times out of 10 because his floor is higher, safer pick, and can contribute next year if everything clicks. Everything is above average with him that can make him a good #3.
  4. Meyer is a given. That I agree with you. Kelly is falling big time on draft boards although I do like him. I just like Detmers more. Bitsko is very interesting, I just don't think it's the Sox MO (at least right now) College pitching or prep hitting is what I would target in round 1
  5. I've seen comparisons of Crochet to Sale because he's left handed and a bit of a tiny motion. The big difference is that Sale never had arm issues in college or ever until this year when he's 31 and was suspended at the beginning of the season for undisclosed reasons. Major red flags. I do not want that 11 where I see his ceiling as an Andrew Miller and a floor as out of the league in 5 years. Some team will take him in the 20s and have him pitch in the bullpen this year.
  6. If Detmers is there, Sox will pick him I think. If none of the college pitchers are there, I think Sox take Soderstrom.
  7. Agreed, especially in a 5 round draft.
  8. My first mock this year: 1. C Tyler Soderstrom Turlock HS 2. LHP Jake Eder Vanderbilt 3. RHP Ben Hernandez De La Salle (IL) 4. OF David Calabrese St. Elizabeth (ON) 5. SS Jimmy Glowenke Dallas Baptist
  9. Yeah, I agree with you. I think there will be better options than him at 11.
  10. I really think this kid could be the sleeper at 11. Move him to 3B or a corner OF spot and let him hit.
  11. Go with me here. How pissed would fans outside of Chicago if Hawks got hot and won the Cup lol.
  12. Yes, we have a chance with both Cespedes and Colas.
  13. Kjerstad. Blah. Another college outfielder? I think that's the last pick they'll go to. Kjerstad is power or he's nothing.
  14. Honestly, he's most likely done. He doesn't have the stuff at AAA, so he definitely won't have it at the MLB level.
  15. I do not get the Hjerstad love. His swing looks stiff and I can see a lot of swing and miss in his game at the next level. Does not project well as a CF either with average arm strength and not great speed. I see him as a LF and I'll take the Sox OF prospects in the system over him. If he was a HSer, maybe, but major pass as a 21 year old turning 22 in February with one loud tool (power).
  16. Detmers will be gone. Kjerstad, another college outfielder? Why? I could see Crochet, but he is a massive risk/reward type player. I really think Sox go HS with Ed Howard or Jared Kelley
  17. Illinois landed a wing in Luke Goode. Kid is a sharp shooter. Looks like Kofi is going to come back. Other 2021 guys they are strong with are Weston, Etienne, and Nesbitt
  18. I'm with James here. No way I see the Sox taking a college hitter this year. Jared Kelly or Ed Howard are my top two choices at 11 assuming no one falls. I wonder now that Howard is projecting to go lower that they can under slot him in the first round and push another HS talent back to 49 and over slot there. It'll be a very interesting draft this year imo. In regards to college pitching, I do like Crochet, but like many of you I do have concerns. I really think going prep is the way to go this year.
  19. I'm a big fan of Murphy. He'll be that veteran too on the backhand after Keith. He could be one half of a defensive line like back in the day with Hammer and Oduya. Thanks for agreeing with me, Tony
  20. Right side of the Hawks will be set for the next few years. Bovqist, Mitchell, and Murphy.
  21. Not increase the chances, but they probably value and prioritize those two more
  22. Sounds like Kenny Atkinson could be a candidate if Bulls let go of Boylen. I'd like that.
  23. Lol 15 ABs into Spring Training and it's March 9th. Woof.
  24. That Illinois/Iowa game was very intense. I came out sweating after watching it. Really good win for Illinois and they earn that double bye!
