Hiring Nevin would just be another awful mistake. Sox should offer Venable whatever to get him here, but we know Jerry won't do that. Which leaves Grady. Familiarity with the team, cheapest option, I think this will likely happen with Grady coming back.

Dodgers don't have the pieces for Robert. Crochet would require Rushing and DePaula at minimum. I don't see it getting done.

I'm not reading this entire thread as I am posting for the first time in this thread. However, a path to .500 for next year is lunacy. Why be average? Be bad or go be good. Being average is exactly what the Bulls were the last three years and refused to tear it down until this year. Continue to be bad, accumulate talent in the draft and trades and Sox can be competitive again in a couple years.

I would assume they would. And I know Sox loved Roman Anthony when he got drafted. Anthony, Yorke, and Cespedes might be able to do it. I would want Teel in the package too though

If that is true, I do think that is a little greedy from Getz POV. O's have plenty of fire power to get Crochet. I don't think Mayo is going to get traded, but Basallo yes. Basallo, Norby, Beavers, and another flyer for Crochet and Kopech/Brebbia would work.
