  1. C Teel/Quero 1B Murakami/Mead 2B Meidroth/Acuna SS Montgomery 3B Vargas/Mead LF Hays/Benintendi CF Acuna/Baldwin RF Pereira/Baldwin/Kelenic DH Benintendi/Quero So a bench of Quero, Mead, Baldwin, Kelenic. I think Korey Lee could win that last spot on the bench too and have 3 catchers so Quero can DH more. I think Sosa gets traded, if not, he's the last bench guy. SP Martin SP Smith SP Kay SP Burke SP Cannon RP Paez RP Gilbert (L) RP Alberto RP Vasil RP Newcomb (L) RP Leasure RP Taylor CP Dominguez
  2. This is a great signing C Teel/Quero 1B Murakami/Mead 2B Meidroth/Acuna SS Montgomery 3B Vargas LF Hays CF Acuna/Baldwin RF Pereira/Baldwin DH Benintendi Definitely think Sosa is gone by the end of the weekend
  3. You can blame Andrew Benintendi for that. He'll be the DH and Sosa doesn't have a position here. Or else I would make him the DH
  4. Only way I can see Hicks coming back is if some prospects are included on Boston's end. I'd rather keep Sosa than trade him for Hicks and some cash. Make Boston to send prospects over too Hicks is bad bad bad
  5. Not enough roster spots available especially if Sox keep two Rule 5 guys at the beginning. Let him develop as the closer in Charlotte
  6. Current roster as is: C Teel/Quero 1B: Murakami/Mead 2B Meidroth 3B Vargas SS Montgomery LF Kelenic (I think he makes the team) CF Acuna RF Pereira/Brooksie DH Benintendi/Sosa SP: Shane Smith, Davis Martin, Anthony Kay, Sean Burke, Jonathan Cannon RP: Tyler Gilbert, Alexander Alberto, Jedixson Paez, Matt Vasil, Sean Newcomb, Jordan Leasure, Grant Taylor, Seranthony Domínguez You got Berrora (who was very good at the end of 2024) and Thorpe coming back. And the pen isn't even including Eisert, Murphy, and Davitt. I'd trade Sosa and a depth pen guy for a prospect or two. Definitely need SP, just not sure who to sign. German Marquez? Zack Littel? Nick Martinez? Jon Gray? Walker Buehler?
  7. Can always trade prospects for draft picks. Can trade anything with value for draft picks. Matter if the Sox want to.
  8. Bryan Hudson is still on the 40 man. He should be the first to go. Get a somewhat legit SP with the rest of the money. Hope Kelenic figures something out and put him in LF, Acuna in CF, Pereira/Brooksie in RF with Beni at DH. Trade Sosa for a prospect not on the 40 man.
  9. Lmao. This is hilarious, but I love it. Why the hell not If Sox trade Robert, we can see a Kelenic/Pereira/Montgomery outfield by June
  10. Just a fantastic signing. You hope he does hit and could possibly extend him as a key piece of the core. If he flops, you're on the hook for one more year.
  11. I don't need superstars. I think we all knew they weren't gonna be superstars. I just want good consistent baseball players. Depth is key. Sox could have depth. If just ONE of these guys becomes a superstar, it's a massive win with the depth they have accumulated over the last few years. AND this isn't with Roch here. He can be the superstar.
  12. What is Sosa's value? He has no position and is a league average hitter
  13. Petty was pretty good in 2024. Robert and Sosa for Petty, Williamson and the comp pick would be awesome.
  14. I believe the Sox want the Luis Robert era over unfortunately. Which is fine because he can't stay on the field. Sox will miss him defensively, but not much offensively. Petty and a draft pick would be awesome to get.
  15. Sox are interested in CF Jacob Meyers (per McTaggert) and RHP Dustin May (per Garfein)
  16. I want JJ Bleday for RF. Not sure what Robert would fetch in a trade. Relievers I would want are Jakob Junis and Gregory Soto
  17. It's a fine signing. Saw he was hitting 96-98 in Japan as well. Very similar to the Fedde signing. Locks up Martin, Smith and Kay in the rotation. Burke, Cannon, and Thorpe (when is he coming back) and then all the kids in the minors on the way up
  18. Is this dude fucking dumb? My god that was a horrible read.
  19. If anyone doesn't see 2025 as a positive then I don't know what to tell ya. Sox were 31-43 for a .419 winning percentage since July 4th which is the date Colson Montgomery came up and all the young players started playing together I shouldn't have to explain with how well the young guys looked offensively with even more on the way up next year. Shane Smith becoming a mid rotation guy as a rule 5 pick is incredible. Davis Martin is a solid back end guy. Taylor, Leasure, Gonzalez, Vasil (another rule 5 guy) all excelling. The holes are obvious on this team for next year, but this season was definitely a positive development because of who won these games.
  20. So they won't be embarrassed when they let him go for nothing? Lol, is that what you are saying? They will definitely pick up his option. Benintendi is a more crippling contract than Robert.
  21. Thing is the players don't hot dog it. They do trick plays, but when the ball is hit, they run everything out. When I went Saturday night, multiple doubles were hit in the gaps, a HR was hit, pitchers were probably throwing mid 80s. There were plays at the plate, sliding head first. If it wasn't routine or anyone on base (where they would do a trick play most likely), it was a true baseball game.
  22. Can't judge a guy off 50 ABs. Minor league success, so give him run as the 1B for the rest of this season. They have no one else at the position anyway. Vargas should stay at 3B as long as possible
  23. I don't think Elko will be the guy, but he has definitely earned the rest of the season at 1B at the MLB level. Vargas' value ideally would be greater at 3B, so I would love for him to stick there. Think it will depend on Montgomery and how he develops at SS at the MLB level. For me, I want Vargas at 3B, Montgomery at SS and Meidroth at 2B. Figure out 1B and the OF when the time comes
