  1. Well that is good to hear. Excited to add another solid hitter to this lineup!
  2. I can admit when I was wrong, didn't expect them to get Grandal at all. That is a lot of money for him though, right?
  3. I still think Mercedes is the perfect 26th man. He can play C/1B/DH and I think he even played a couple games at 3B
  4. This team can't finish worth shit. As soon as Lavine and Lauri came back in the game it turned to shit
  5. Why would he accept anything less than 2/28? He is automatically getting 18M this year, if he performs you don't think he could get a 1 year deal at around 10M for the next year?
  6. It is obvious this team has some young talented players, that first half against the Lakers was great and we have had other games we looked great too for periods of time.
  7. Just pathetic, this team can't finish a game worth shit
  8. That would depend on the contracts given.
  9. Based on what? Seems like you have blind optimism. What makes this off-season a fail to you? As long as we spend 40M you are happy?
  10. Cool, so we spent money to maybe get 2nd place in the division. Say we get Calhoun, Thames, and Bumgarner. Yeah that makes us better this year but what does that do for the future of the organization? You have to bring in a longer term player with more upside but I see this organization settling.
  11. Nobody is saying they won't sign anyone. But who cares if we sign a 4 or 5 starting pitcher and an average RF/DH? Where does that get us? I think they are going to end up overpaying for average talent. We won't sign a top 5 FA (Cole, Rendon, Stras, Grandal, Wheeler) IMO.
  12. I agree but be ready to be disappointed, I don't think we will get either.
  13. That it is very possible we can strike out in free agency again even though all signs point to us being big players? You make it seem like it is a guarantee we are going to sign quality players but people were saying the same thing last year when there wasn't as high of a market as there will be this year.
  14. I bet I can go back a year and find this same statement from a handful of people on this board and across the internet.
  15. I am pretty pessimistic but I think a lot of Sox fans are at this point and the front office is feeling the pressure to do something this off-season after what happened last year. So I wouldn't doubt if the bigger names are off the table and Hahn and company over pay for a couple guys.
  16. Not really saying that, I still think the team can be pretty good with the minor leaguers coming up and Kopech coming back from injury. But we have heard "the money will be spent" numerous times and I just don't see it this off-season. I hope I am wrong and we land a bigger FA but I have a feeling we will end up overpaying for a guy just so the front office can say we spent the money to get better.
  17. We are going to be extremely disappointed this off-season. A lot more teams will be in on FA's than last year.
  18. MLB offseason/FA is far too long. Wish it was more like NBA when most of the free agents sign rather quickly
  19. Awesome! Really happy for Ryan Zimmerman, dude has been through it all
  20. Such a shame umps have to been so involved
  21. I will never understand why head coaches refuse to sub out players in the last few minutes of a game. Knicks went on a 10-0 run and Boylan doesn't do anything different to stop it or change the momentum?
  22. I haven't seen anyone mention this but wasn't a fan of White coming out of the game with 4-5 minutes left, he was playing well IMO. Then when we needed to score and hit a 3 Boylan didn't put him back in after a timeout.
  23. You know whatever we think is the best lineup Ricky will do the exact opposite?
  24. Thank god the Cardinals are finally coming back down to earth.
