QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 24, 2015 -> 12:01 PM) Well again, we only thought the backstory was boring or unnecessary in the middle was because we had thought Averys story was going to end in episode 1. So we thought we knew the outcome of his story, That he gets released after 18 years. So we were is it waiting for it to get to that conclusion again. Now that I know there is tons of stuff after that part of his life, the backstory is more important. Oh, yeah I thought that too when watching the first episode. I thought it was going to end up being a series about 10 different cases

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 11:41 PM) Ok, my buddy and I watched episode 1 today. We thought it was good, but got pretty boring for stretches at a time. Like...we got it...they ignored the real facts. BUT, we didn't realize the entire series was about this guy. We thought they were wrapping up his story and were bored since we knew the outcome already. Then that last clip they played about finding a body....that got us hooked. We then realized what it was setting up for, and the title of the show should have been obvious. So yeah, I'll keep watching. Yeah, there are some boring stretches but that kind of comes with true stories about some crime. Have to give some back story that really isn't entertaining. Considering I watched all 10 episodes in 48 hours, I was really interested in it lol
  5. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 01:31 PM) Just move Gordon to RF, bat him 4th behind Abreu and in front of Frazier (that's a lot of 3 run bombs), find some insurance guys for the pen/rotation to battle it out in ST and call it an offseason. Keep him in LF. No reason to move him

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 01:28 AM) If it's true story, I'll watch it. I'm definitely in to that stuff. Speaking of Netflix. Just watched the pilot episode of "F is for Family" on Netflix. Bill Burr cartoon comedy. Pretty solid pilot. They definitely play up the Bill Burr anger and yelling, as they should. Other characters weren't great, but I'll keep watching. It is a true story. I watched 8 episodes in 24 hours. Episodes are between 50 min and an hour

For those of you who are interested in crime shows, Serial Podcast, stuff like that; you HAVE to check out "Making a Murderer" on Netflix. I need someone to talk to about this.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 10:28 PM) God they are awful defensively. Or they are dead tired. I will never understand why coaches don't change up the line up a bit in games like these. Fresh legs could do wonders
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 09:49 AM) And please cancel are you the one, nobody cares about that. None of us care about it but I am sure that show has a following and having players over from that show might bring in new crowds to watch The Challenge and hopefully keep it on the air.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 07:00 AM) It sucks that they are still connected to their bloodlines. Makes for drama for votes but ruins the integrity of the game. Well they have to do it now. They set up the season for a certain amount of weeks with a certain amount of players at the end. If they start just doing single elimination there would be a lot of players left for the final. It adds another strategic element to the game though and like you said, drama
  11. So does this new format favor the Guy-Girl teams more now?
  12. If Alexei wants to sign a cheap friendly 1 year deal with an option for 2017 I am all for it but if it is going to be a lot more then he is worth I would rather just stick with Saladino/Sanchez and if we are in it at the trade deadline and both are horrible we can trade for one
  13. As a cheaper alternative I like Denard Span
  14. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 04:53 PM) Hahn stated there is no room for a big signing. I don't think you are using twitter the right way.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 03:08 PM) Wait and see. If Frazier hits 35 home runs and has a glove that isn't Gillaspie-like chances are very very good the Sox win the trade. Somebody makes a great point on here. We get Frazier two years. So it makes no sense to not try to win it now (even during the Royals' current window). That means Lexi should be signed at ss. He's a playoff caliber shortstop. And add Gordon or Upton (if that is really a possibility?) and this team with its pitching staff is a real contender. It'd be so much a contender Robin would have to be let go by May 15 if the Sox were six or more games out. But as far as the trade? We'll not know until we see if Frazier mashes on the SouthSide or sucks in the AL like LaRoche/Dunn. That is the only way the Sox win the trade? Oh man
  16. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 12:23 PM) Hate this deal for a lot of reasons. 1. Avi - Eaton - Melky OF is all but confirmed. Another year of negative WAR from both corners really make acquiring Lawrie and Frazier pointless. The only internal option that maybe makes a splash just got traded for... 2. The next player to come to the White Sox and collapse. Frazier is about to cross the 30 barrier and look at his 2nd half splits last year. Look at how bad he was. Hard time seeing him turning it around, especially with the Sox track record of aging sluggers. 3. We gave up 3 dynamic players. Thompson is a great defender, Micah has that speed, Montas has the big fastball. These guys were all set to the contribute in different, meaningful ways and instead the Sox dealt them for the same exact kind of player we've seen every offseason since 2005. 1) who said we are done? It is still December 2) He was also on a s***ty team that was going downhill and was on the trade block 3) I wouldn't say any of them are dynamic yet. They have a chance but we haven't had much success with our own prospects very often so we sold high on him. Micah can't field and wasn't going to start anyways, Montas has a big fastball but no control and barely probably won't end up as a starter, and Thompson didn't exactly hit well his minors career and had one or two good months in the MLB. We sold high on them
  17. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 12:11 PM) Lawrie had an OBP of .299 and was a 0.6 WAR player last year. You can always hope for the best but it's not like we picked up the 2nd coming of Joe Morgan. I don't see where you get "2nd coming of Joe Morgan" from "Solid bat at 2B"
  18. Have to get another OF and I wouldn't be surprised if we brought back Alexei at a cheep price for a year with an option for the 2nd.
  19. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 12:00 PM) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This will not end well for us. It's not like we are paying a lot to have him at least. We sold high on a couple prospects.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 15, 2015 -> 01:47 PM) Why is Cameron Bairstow on the team? He only plays in garbage time. There isn't any team that plays 12 guys. He is just there for emergency case. There isn't anyone else out there
  21. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 07:18 PM) Hypothetically speaking, if we got Frazier and Upton or Cespedes, would you be set with the rotation or would you want them to add another starter? Bring back Mark for one year
