QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) Flowers is fine. Soto is junk but he isn't seeing many innings. AJ is 38. I was saying just for this year. We know AJ won't continue hitting like that but I still think he would be an upgrade over Flowers. Which isn't hard

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 09:12 PM) Seems like he'll fit right in with Vince Coleman eventually. Wasn't that his first CS?
-
QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 09:29 PM) No Care to elaborate? Do you like Flowers/Soto?
-
Anyway we can get this guy back and platoon with Flowers or Soto? After his 4-4 game tonight he is now batting .439 in 41 ABs with 3 HR and 12 RBI. The Braves have Bethancourt who they want to start and they think is the future at catcher for them. I personally would love him back and think he would be a good platoon partner with Flowers for this year while we find a permanent replacement in the future. Not sure how he would fit in the clubhouse but he knows how to work with a pitching staff which Flowers doesn't seem to be that great at, IMO. Thoughts?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 02:44 PM) Big difference between people in a riot and some just milling around. If there are rioters at the gates, even locked, I bet they won't play. That is exactly what I am worried about. These people will know there is a game going on and is a great way to get even more attention, they won't just ignore it.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 02:23 PM) I'm sure they will have security out there telling people to scram. Lol like that will work with hundreds of angry people. Did you not see anything that happened yesterday?
-
I wonder with this game being played and closed to the public how many people will be outside of the stadium. Is Camden Yards one of the stadiums where you can see the field somewhere outside of it? I could see dumbass people trying to throw things in the stadium or trying to climb fences and cause problems

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 02:02 PM) Why not go ahead and play two tomorrow (when the teams have just had two days off) as opposed to playing two on May 28, when the Sox will be in the middle of playing 17 straight days? That is what I am wondering. Start the game at 11 or 12 local time and just play two games and be done by 6ish and fly out.
-
This really just screws the White Sox so bad in May. Now the Sox have to fly to Baltimore on their off day after playing Toronto to play 2 games in one day and then fly to Houston after the double header

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 12:09 PM) Adam Kilgore @AdamKilgoreWP 55m55 minutes ago An industry source says the Orioles playing home game at Nationals Park is "not a realistic option" at this point. Adam Kilgore @AdamKilgoreWP 18m18 minutes ago Nats spokeswoman: "The Nationals have not been approached about the possibility of playing games at Nationals Park." Wow, what the hell is MLB/O's doing then?
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 10:39 AM) I know the Nats/Orioles relationship isn't the best, but sometimes you have to play with the enemy. I know it's not easy getting staffing together and tickets are a problem, but really, just give all the Oriole ticketholders a credit and give away cheap seats to anyone who makes the trek to DC. It wouldn't be well attended, so you could get by with a skeleton crew. If I'm Hahn, I tell MLB either move it somewhere else or postpone game 3. No reason the White Sox should have to spend another night in that situation. Agreed. Something needs to be decided today about what will happen tomorrow.
-
This is pathetic. They had well over 15 hours to figure out what to do in order to get this game in and nothing was done. I know this is a strange and sad situation happening in Baltimore but the O's and MLB really dropped the ball here. I think Washington and Baltimore should be able to squash their beef for the safety of the players and people in trouble.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) A positive take away is we barely lost the past 2 games despite some bad breaks and Rose playing like s***. If we get the good Derrick in either of the next 2 games and get those makeable shots to fall, we should have no problem moving on to the next round. Bucks have figured out how to guard pretty much everything he tries to do and what our team tries to do. But we still keep running the same plays and sets over and over and it isn't working.

Can't believe we are going to game 6

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 09:30 PM) Tristan Thompson is going to average 43 offensive rebounds. We won't even make it there at this rate
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 09:15 PM) So much for the end of Game 5 motivating Derrick. He's hot garbage tonight. Not sure why Thibs is playing him the whole 2nd half. Not a good way to get Rose going.

Statement from Commissioner Manfred...Balt Sun article on series

I am surprised they didn't figure this out tonight. Are they just hoping it gets better tomorrow? If they have a game everyone knows what will happen outside the stadium. It just isn't safe -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 08:12 PM) http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles...ory.html#page=1 Seems they're already making plans to move the games to Washington/Nationals' Park. Good for the White Sox, then, skip Noesi and a significantly decreased homefield advantage. We aren't suppose to come back to BAL right? I would assume we need to play a DH tomorrow or Wednesday unless there happens to be a day both teams can play -
Up 6. Jumbo line up in (and Kirk), down 1 just like that.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 06:47 PM) Why does it seem we always tend to have the streakiest of streaky hitters in our minor league system? Too many "all or nothing" players and not enough Ravelos who are more consistent and patient hitters with a higher OBP/contact rate. And we decided to get rid of him

Looters at the mall. These people look so stupid sprinting into a mall to steal things.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 06:29 PM) Suddenly, Amaro Jr. looks smart for holding on to Hamels. The Dodgers pitching is so thin right now. They can have Danks

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 06:38 PM) For whoever was wondering if the riots are close enough to the ballpark to warrant the cancellation: What an asshole

I am really out of the loop. What exactly happened to cause these riots? I am sure a black man died because of police but what exactly are they so pissed about and what led up to this?

4/27: Sox Vs Os - POSTPONED DUE TO RIOTS

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 05:49 PM) I gotta agree, there's no reason to expect the next 2 days to be any different at this point and a significant chance that it will move back closer to the park. Yeah, this won't get better (this is coming from someone that is from the St. Louis area and had to deal with listening to the other s*** for over a week).
