GAME THREAD 7/8: SOX @ BOS
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 08:41 PM) Dunn now 1 for 11 with 6 K's against Miller. Why didn't we use Konerko...at least turn their bullpen over??? Dunn had zero chance there. Because Robin doesn't think too well out there

When Does Flowers Get Replaced As Everyday Catcher?
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 08:36 PM) Flowers can handle a pitching staff? The Sox have a 4.16 team ERA which is good for 6th worst in baseball. What exactly is he handling? Robin??

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 08:22 PM) I'd rather he go up there with a tennis racket. Or just try and get hit by the ball..

When Does Flowers Get Replaced As Everyday Catcher?
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 08:18 PM) Don't be so sure. He was in High A last season at this time. Nieto has shown a lot more patience lately and I just can't see him hitting worse then Flowers.. At least he would be getting AB's and developing more. I can't watch Flowers bat anymore.

When Does Flowers Get Replaced As Everyday Catcher?
I say Nieto starts 3-4 games a week and Flowers 2-3 for a few weeks then if Nieto is hitting under .200 bring up Phegley and Nieto the back up. There is no way Nieto hits under .100 in his next 100 AB's

GAME THREAD 7/8: SOX @ BOS
At least he didn't give up the lead.. With Sale pitching tomorrow I would have someone up and ready next inning and take out Danks when he lets up a hit or walk

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 07:42 PM) At this point I would be on board with trading Beckham for any live body A ball pitcher in the mold the Sox like (stuff, control problems) and start Semian the rest of the year at 2B. Or if not Semian, Sanchez. I could see Saladino or Sanchez coming up to play 2B since Semien has been struggling so much Danks not doing to good this inning. Have to limit the damage

GAME THREAD 7/8: SOX @ BOS
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 07:26 PM) As others have said, I think Beckham's status as trade bait is why we don't want to move him out of the 2 spot. Likewise, putting Gillaspie in the 2 spot behind Eaton is a recipe for disaster because it guarantees that Gillaspie sees LHP late in games and he is awful against lefties I feel like keeping him at the 2 hole right now is actually hurting his value.. Gillaspie has been seeing a lefty almost every night already so it wouldn't be much of a difference. I feel like that is an easy cop out reason to keep Beckham there.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 07:15 PM) Gillaspie bats lower because he has struggled lately and you want someone to bat in the middle of all those turds in the bottom of the order. It also doesn't hurt to ensure Abreu bats in the first inning Beckham sucks against RHP, put Gillaspie 2nd.. He has struggled a bit but is still one of our better hitters this year.. He shouldn't be hitting that low when you have 2 guys in front of him that can't hit and have struggled way worse then Gillaspie

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 07:12 PM) isn't his knee still sore? Looks fine to me.. I don't know why that would effect where he bats in the line up. If he is good enough to be put in the line up, hit him where he should be hitting against RHP

GAME THREAD 7/8: SOX @ BOS
Gillaspie is a stud against RHP.. Should be hitting 2nd, 3rd, or 5th
