  1. Hawk thinks we are set at 2B with Gordon..
  2. Its so demoralizing to give up runs like that especially in the first
  3. Seriously, why do we put a mic in this stadium? Holy s***
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2014 -> 09:15 PM) Been a while since they got a hit in the first I swear Conor did last night
  5. Abreu chases too many pitches.. Oakland has to have the most annoying ballpark in the league.. Its hard to even have the volume on while we are batting
  6. Facing a lefty, Johnson grounds out again.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ May 13, 2014 -> 06:14 PM) Phegley 2-run homer. Johnson grounded out. Saladino in LF. Send him back down
  8. Any line ups out for Charlotte? Curious to see how it shakes out
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 13, 2014 -> 03:52 PM) Promoted to AAA per the Sox Twitter. Will we see him in the Majors this year? There is a thread in the minor league section about his promotion
  10. Would the Jose Abreu cover be in Missouri? Might have to go find it if so
  11. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 13, 2014 -> 03:52 PM) You should never snapthe elbow. That's the ryan/house theory of how to throw it. I've never like that method of throwing the curveball. The knuckle curve is starting to gain popularity again as the spin is imparted to the ball with the finger not wrist position. However, it's more difficult to learn as not a natural motion to "flick" the finger while throwing. Well obviously but a lot of these coaches don't know that and don't teach teens the right way to throw it..
  12. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 13, 2014 -> 03:14 PM) All you need to look at it youth baseball and when kids begin throwing breaking pitches that are not change ups. Not to mention the number of innings they throw. It is completely stupid for youths to throw breaking balls.. The first breaking ball that should be taught is a knuckle-curve. That is the first one I was taught when I was around 14.. You don't have to snap the elbow and really does no strain.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 13, 2014 -> 02:34 PM) Andrews said he used to do the surgery on 3 or 4 HS kids a year. Now he does 3 or 4 a week. Andrews must not sleep.. How does he do so many damn surgeries
  14. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 13, 2014 -> 02:35 PM) Has SoxTalk ever done a group outing? I haven't been here that long so I don't know if that is something SoxTalk has done before but if a mod, or anyone for that matter, could let me know, I would appreciate it. Anyways, I will have my hands on some pretty serious promo codes for an upcoming summer game. I should have the final date and ticket prices soon but I'm thinking there is going to be three tiers (bleachers, outfielder reserves and lower reserves at $10, $12 and $20 respectively). There should be upper deck reserves for $10 as well but it's still getting sorted out. The tentative date is Friday, June 13th against the Royals. All tickets would be purchased through whitesox.com. I am just trying to gauge interest and see if that's something the posters would be interested in. I'd love to hear everyone's opinions and will start a thread if interest is there and the mod team is okay with it. Regardless of whether the site is interested in doing a group outing or not, I will definitely make the promo code available to any posters here who would be interested in a good game at a discounted price. Please let me know what you all think! DISCLAIMER: Moderating team - Please be diligent in correcting this post if it is outside of the site guidelines. I would totally understand if this were to be an issue. I will be coming in town that Saturday afternoon so if you could make it June 15th (Sunday) I would be able to go.
  15. Congrats to Johnson. It will be exciting to see how he does and what happens next
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 13, 2014 -> 01:46 PM) So Adam Dunn should lead off. Gotcha. Why not?? I was leaning towards Ramirez which is way more reasonable
  17. I wish I was able to go to games more.. If I lived in the Chicago area I would defiantly go to at least 20 games a year..
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 13, 2014 -> 01:15 PM) Put Abreu for all care. Just anybody but your two worst hitters on the team Its simple, put Ramirez up there until Eaton is back or Semien (At least he will take pitches)
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2014 -> 01:15 PM) Is there anyone who still believes Ventura is going to be the one who leads the White Sox to their next playoff appearance? No, so the sooner he is gone the better
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 13, 2014 -> 01:06 PM) The problem is when Eaton is out, the Sox don't really have a leadoff hitter on their roster. So no matter who is there, when a game is lost and the guy leading off doesn't have a good game, Robin is an idiot. If you don't have a leadoff hitter then put whoever gets on base the most up there.. Garcia, De Aza, and Beckham are not those.
  21. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 13, 2014 -> 12:04 AM) Flowers sucks, so does Garcia Thanks for coming in here just to say that
  22. Wow... Would have rather seen Semien bat with one of those AB's.. Least we gave it a run
  23. Need one of those weak base hits Tumbleweeds!
  24. Sucks we have our worst hitters coming up
