  1. Abreu makes me so angry when he swings at off-speed out of the zone but then so happy when he hits those bombs and rockets.
  2. I think Abreu is feeling better and that 24+ hours off helped him a lot. I am sure he gets treatment before and after games.. He seems fine so let him play
  3. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ May 15, 2014 -> 09:06 PM) So has the year been pretty much worst case scenario for our minor leaguers or is it just me? I'd like to preface this by saying, yes, I know it's early and I know the world isn't over in May.... - Sanchez has 0 pop - Davidson can't even make contact - Mitchell is a lost cause - Things are looking grim for Thompson, this was supposed to be the year - Beck can't get anybody to swing and miss - Anderson can't hit - Barnum is beginning to look like a lost cause - While better, Hawkins isn't exactly looking great - May looks terrible So besides Johnson and Danish are there any silver linings I'm not aware of to give us hope? I know our system isn't very good and I wasn't expecting big things, but things really don't look good until we infuse more talent into the minor leagues. Hahn did a good job of getting young talent for the big league club this year, but he needs to get more talent in the minor leagues as soon as possible. There really isn't much besides a utility INF, maybe a 5th starter, and hopefully Davidson coming in the next 2 or 3 years. That's not good.... Did anyone expect Sanchez to have any pop? That was not and will not ever be his game. He doesn't need to hit home runs to be good for this team. I truly think Davidson thinks he should be in the bigs and it has been messing with his head. I am sure it will get better.. Nobody expected anything from Mitchell this year at all.. Read the post made on futuresox about Beck, a lot of people think he is working on things that is why he doesn't strike a lot out.. Anderson is still figuring things out, he hasn't been horrible, same with Barnum and Hawkins.
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 15, 2014 -> 05:54 PM) I see his point, but Puig plays in one of the ESPN big four (New York, Boston, Miami, LA). Of course he gets more attention. Wait Miami is part of the big four?? Only in basketball and that is only because of James.
  5. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 14, 2014 -> 11:15 PM) This is just so disappointing. Thank god Gillaspie is solid this year. Davidsons still young enough. Hope he turns it around. Can't wait to follow Micah at AAA. So is Danish a AAA promotion candidate or will they take their time with him? Danish just got promoted to A+, I doubt he gets to AAA this year. I am sure he will stay at A+ for the rest of the year. They said he has a 100 IP limit
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 14, 2014 -> 02:02 PM) I could have sworn they said that Abreu was going to get today off so that he could have a few days off in a row to rest his ankle All this means is 2 weeks from now they will be on pace for 1000 They said they would rest him today or Friday.. Guess they choose Friday
  7. Game... No hitting+triple A pitching= Suck
  8. Mlbtv has been as bad as pur offense tonight.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 13, 2014 -> 10:18 PM) I missed it. Did Redick do what he did last night and bunt again? No, soft base hit over where the SS would normally be. I think Ramirez could have caught it
  10. This team has no energy right now.. Maybe we should take some of that 5 hour energy that I have see Carlos Beltran promoting every commercial on MLB.TV
  11. After 4 straight balls, Konerko swings at the first pitch and grounds weakly to the SS for a DP
