Sox @ Gigantes pt. deux
Belisario probably would have been my last choice to come in with bases loaded and 2 outs with a tie game.. I assume he was warming up before Robin was tossed or after?

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 04:56 PM) Wow, why was Q pulled? Pagan is significantly better vs RHP. oh well I am not sure why Parent decided to do that. I would rather have Q then Belisario pitching

QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 04:55 PM) This has nothing to do with it. The rule was put in because Posey fractured his ankle on a collision. Concussion had nothing to do with it. I think they used Matheny as another example of way the rule needed to be changed Belisario is just brutal

Lol, Garcia will lead off next inning instead of the pitcher.. It is practically the same thing!

Sox @ Gigantes pt. deux
QUOTE (JoshPR @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 04:51 PM) Only difference is the throw to posey was from a different angle, that's why posey was a lil off Well yeah that is why they were in different positions.. I just don't see how they can call him safe unless he would have been safe if the catcher isn't blocking the plate. It is a stupid rule

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 04:50 PM) Shouldn't blocking the plate be an error on the catcher? Mental I guess. Probably didn't make that rule or even think about it

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 04:47 PM) Farmer is just losing his s***. I can't imagine Hawk is any worse than this right now. Hawk said he wishes he could cuss and the rule is ridiculous. Also need 4 impartial people in NY and not umpires

QUOTE (JoshPR @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 04:46 PM) This rule sucks. Wow same play with Posey Only difference is Posey was farther up the line by a foot or so.. Both had their foot in the baseline though

What a bunch of BS. I can understand if he would have been safe if he wasn't blocking the plate but he was out no matter what..

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 03:32 PM) As much as I think he should get a day off every two weeks or so, I completely agree with you on this. Also, they probably want to see how he reacts to one of his biggest slumps of the year. I pretty much said the same damn thing earlier lol

Can't throw 3 straight balls after having 2 strikes on a guy.. Recipe for disaster

Golfing Thread
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 03:02 PM) Youre probably just coming in steep. Try making sure your left shoulder is higher than your right when you set up with your driver, your head should be behind the ball. Then try to finish with the clubhead pointing at Right Center field. Another drill I do is keep the driver head as low to the ground as possible in my backswing, this forces you to rotate with your body instead of taking the club straight up with your arms. Thanks, I will give it a shot tomorrow!

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 02:56 PM) Coming outside in or over the top. Try hitting the ball to the RF'er. I literally have to turn my body to the left just to try and get it on the fairway.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 02:52 PM) 1 game off a month when it really looks like he needs it shouldn't change that and might well help him feel better for the overall grind. With the offdays/long travel and no DH this was about the perfect time. Even Hawk noted on Sunday how Abreu looked more exhausted than he's seen him the entire season. He had a day off Monday and gets another tomorrow.. Everyone figured he would get tired quickly as the season went on. But like I said he has to get use to the grind of being in the MLB. Playing him this much will help him out for next year when we are hopefully in a playoff race

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 02:49 PM) Still no extra time off for Abreu. I would rather him keep playing. He has to get use to playing this many games every year

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 02:46 PM) De Aza check swings way too much. I was thinking the same thing. He is horrible with that and it has costs him a lot of outs this year it seems like

QUOTE (Vance Law @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 02:43 PM) If you think Dunn sucks, I hope you have an even more harsh verb to describe Viciedo. Have you ever looked at their baseball statistics? Viciedo is not good either but at least he is younger, has had a decent contract, and has room to improve unlike Dunn.. I am not really an advanced stats type of a guy so haven't looked at that

Golfing Thread
Finally get to go golfing tomorrow.. Haven't golfed in over a year and only have done it a handful of times. I'm not that good but I want to start golfing more often and try and get better. The main problem I have is having a huge slice when driving or hitting the ball from a far distance.. I feel like it has to do with me playing baseball all my life.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 02:37 PM) He's not Gordon Beckham bad, and he was doing great in this statistic about 2 or 2 1/2 months ago, but right now he's only at .669 OPS-wise against righties. Dunn sucks and runs into a home run just about as much as Viciedo does..

QUOTE (peavy44 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 12:51 AM) When u dont have a bullpen u leave sale in and putnam should get his chance to close petrika sucks. Petricka has been our best bullpen arm this year and Putnam just got off the DL.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 12:39 AM) Any reason why Robin didn't let Sale complete the game other than trying to move up in the draft. This was too predictable that the pen would do this. They all need to be punched in the nuts. Because there was no reason to risk anything bringing him back out in an almost meaningless game for us

Konerko's Farewell Tour
Konerko will always be one of the faces of this franchise. It will be sad to see him go but I hope he will work for the White Sox in some capacity in the near future!
