  1. Love Semien's approach at the plate. He is going to be a good hitter for us
  2. Maybe Beckham will be out awhile and Semien can start the season with the club
  3. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Mar 14, 2014 -> 12:02 PM) (Evans is the Giants assistant GM): @DavidLaurilaQA 17m Bobby Evans said Giants were close to deal with White Sox this offseason. Ended up not happening. #SABRanalytics https://twitter.com/DavidLaurilaQA/status/444513550220804096 Any of our insiders hear anything about this? Any of our non-insiders care to hazard a guess? It probably doesn't even matter any more.. There are a lot of deals that were close that never happen.
  4. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 07:09 PM) I've been near there for Illini games (a few sections over in 117 I believe), should be great views. Only my 2nd game ever. Wasn't nearly this close last time! Can't wait!
  5. Has anyone ever sat in section 121 at the United Center? Got tickets in that section in row 6 for next Saturday's game against the 76ers
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 05:27 PM) Most people see Eaton as the Sox leadoff hitter for years but I see Micah Johnson with Eaton batting 2nd. Now that will be a great top 2. Either that or Johnson hitting 9th.. But I would rather him be up top like you said
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 05:25 PM) (you remember how people have complained about Beckham being brought along too fast and that potentially screwing him up right?) (You remember Micah has been in the minors longer then Beckham, right? 200 AB's to 800 AB's)
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 05:20 PM) (No, he'll start the year at AA but it's nice to see him having a good spring). I know, I was joking... kind of... Would much rather see him starting then Beckham
  9. Can we just give Micah Johnson the job now?? 3-2 pitch against a lefty and he took it the other way for an RBI single.. Would have been a double if it wasn't 1st and 2nd.
  10. QUOTE (GallonsOfSemien @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 03:58 PM) Quintana pitching like a guy who isn't very good. Which is odd because Quintana has pitched well in past seasons. Spring. Training.
  11. Johnson with a chopper, shows his speed and beats it out. RBI single
  12. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 12:03 AM) I'm thinking about going back to school and making a career change. Has anybody else gone through that? I'm very good at what I do, but I don't necessarily love it. It scares me to become a poor college student again after making good money, but at the same time, I think I'll always wonder "what if" if I don't do it. Am I crazy? Most of my friends I've talked to about it have told me it's a dumb idea. A few have been supportive. I'm about to turn 26 and I'm feeling the pressure. I pretty much need to make some life-altering decisions in the next 6-9 months. If I don't do it by then, I think I'm stuck where I'm at. Which isn't bad. But I feel I could do more. I'm thinking about going to med school, btw. I'm short about 3 semesters of credit, so I'd have to do that first before applying. The fact of the matter is that I've wanted to be a Doctor for as long as I can remember, and I've always regretted giving up on that. As a 20 year old kid, I felt way overburdened and didn't want to put in the time/effort. I wanted to be social and have fun. With all the extracurriculars I was part of, plus having a job, I felt I couldn't continue the pre-med path. For a while I was happy, but my last semester of college I started regretting it. And it's been that way since. Now the feeling has grown pretty strong the last 2-3 months and I think I want to go for it. But damn, it's a big life change. Go for your dreams!! If you have the chance and its something you want to do and feel you will love then go for it.
  13. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 10:53 PM) That's all I want to watch too. I feel like they all have a good shot at being above average players. I appreciate Alexei but I wouldn't mind getting a more well-rounded hitter like Semien in there; give Bacon the whole year but trade Alexei to the first desperate caller. Roll the dice, we supposedly have MI depth. I know Alexei, Beckham, and Gillaspie don't give us a much better chance to win then Semien, Johnson, and Davidson so why not? I know it won't happen but I wish
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 10:12 PM) I'm feeling really good about Micah Johnson. Just something about him. Me too. Wish we could just trade Beckham and Ramirez and start the future now!! 1B- Abreu 2B- Johnson 3B- Davidson SS- Semien LF- Viciedo CF- Eaton RF- Garcia That would be such a fun group to watch and they would have a lot of energy
  15. The Challenge starts in a month!! Apparently there are no teams this year
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 11:17 PM) Is Micah any good? Is he gonna make the team? I kind of am getting excited about him for no sane reason. Yes he is good, no he won't make team. Needs another year in the minors at least.
  17. Come on heat wave in 11 days
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 05:36 PM) Crafty lefty, which means lefty Dylan Axelrod. He didn't look too crafty. First time I saw him and looks like he would put up Axelrod numbers
  19. Semien drives a single to right field to drive in a run.. Great AB and approach.. Trade Beckham please
  20. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 04:49 PM) Outside of our core young guys this team is awful to watch. Only reason I'm excited is for our young guys. Cannot wait to see Ramirez, Beckham and Dunn all gone Not sure if the team would be better but it would be more fun to watch Semien and Micah instead of Ramirez and Beckham
  21. I am in shock. Why would he be opening day starter!?!? He sucks!!
