Anybody know when the new Nexus 10 is going to come out?? I have read on black friday but you think there would have been an announcement already.. I figured if that comes out the one from last year will be cheaper and might get it. I looked at the 7 inch tablets and they just seem a bit too small for me. Wish they had it in a n 8 or 9 inch screen.. so figured the 10 inch would be best for me. But still haven't decided. Such a tough decision for whatever reason..

Cardinals and Peralta close to a deal
Really doesn't seem like a St. Louis move. I hope he struggles because he doesn't deserve that money..

So I am planning on getting the PS4 whenever MLB 14 The Show comes out. I figure the upgrade will be worth it at least I hope so..

NBA Thread 2013-2014
QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 01:10 AM) Honestly, I won't blame him if he really breaks down. This is unbelievably awful. Yeah, yeah, we know he gets plenty of money and it's part of the reason he will eventually be fine. But he has invested a tremendous portion of his emotional livelihood in basketball. When he thinks about himself, he thinks "I am Derrick Rose the basketball player." Everyone he knows, even his family, thinks about him in this way. Success in basketball and success in life are synonymous for him. That has been taken away. The rehab for the ACL injury took a ton out of him. The length of time away from the game, the time it took, the fear of failure, the criticism coming at him...those all took their toll. To look ahead at all of the same but even more is probably overwhelming. Luckily (I guess), he has a long time to get over it. Exactly, basketball is his life, its what he lives and breathes. And if that is taken away from him..... I couldn't even imagine.. It took him 18 months to come back from the first one. Missed a whole season.. Its reasonable to say he could be back by the start of next year but who knows.. Could take him even longer since it happened to him twice.

I don't know how Rose will take this psychology. He didn't even get to play a quarter of a season and he tears his other ACL?? What are the chances. That would kill me emotionally

Hahn says trade talks have heated up.
QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 02:08 PM) Interesting deal for the Cards. With Holliday in LF and Bourjos in CF, they don't have room to play Taveras if they also wanna keep Craig/Adams. Not to mention Jay, who I could see being traded to the Sox for Lexi. Why should we trade Alexei for Jay?? Jay is not good.

Woooooo!! No David Freese for us!!

LA Angels get Freese from St. Louis
I don't think we have a use for Jon Jay to be honest. Unless we are trading De Aza but still would rather find someone else for CF

Cardinals Get Bourjos Looks like Freese is going to the Angels. Thank god

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 12:57 AM) This guy is on the block http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/a/andruel01.shtml even after Rangers trading Kinsler?? Seems odd that they would trade him but would love to have him

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 12:40 AM) Our team would be appreciably better if Freese was the everyday 3B. I don't know that the trade price would be worth that gain, but he's a nice player. NOOOOOO lol

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 12:24 AM) I think they think they are a proven bat away to be honest. If the rotation and pen hold up, all it takes is those what ifs to happen I feel the same.. Hopefully we can get another piece and we can actually compete

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 11:56 PM) I can't recommend Nexus 7 enough. I believe this year's release is discounted to $199 on Amazon right now. Great hardware, great software Yeah I am leaning towards the Nexus right now. Staples will have them for $199 for black friday as well

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 11:43 PM) You are a student? Nexus. Kindle fire isn't for you. Yep, going into the final semester of my junior year. That is what I am leaning towards. Seems like it is the best tablet for the price out there right now unless there is one i don't know about

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 11:38 PM) Well, I suppose part of the question is how you want to use it. For me, I wouldn't really consider the Kindles due to the limitations of their software. If you're just reading and streaming video, basic things, maybe the screen size is going to matter more. I have never had a tablet before so not really sure everything you can do with them. I am going to be watching videos on them and surf the web, and also games. I am a student too but only for one more year so I am not sure if I will have much use for it in that area. With the 7 inch I feel like it will be the same thing has my phone just a few inches bigger.

Technology catch-all thread
Alright guys I need some advice/feedback. I am getting a tablet for Christmas and I am trying to decide between two tablets: 1) Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8'9 2) Nexus 7 I have read a lot of things and Nexus has great reviews and you can customize more and probably do more things with it but the Kindle Fire has a bigger screen and also has good reviews but is just limited more.. So anyone have any experiences with these? Or should I be looking at other tablets?? I don't want to go more then $350 price and I don't want an Apple product

QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 06:58 PM) Mistake in which way? You really like Gillaspie huh? If Semien hits in the Spring he absolutely deserves AB's over Gillaspie. I don't think Semien is a true 3B just like Beckham wasn't and they forced him there.. I want Semien to play but not at 3B unless somehow Beckham turns it around. Right now I would rather have Gillaspie then Beckham in the line up.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 06:07 PM) He'll be in the mix, don't you worry. If they go out and get a legitimate 3B, cya later, but I don't see that happening, and Freese is not that guy. I have a feeling they will try Semien at 3B which would be a mistake IMO. Unless Beckham or Ramirez gets traded

QUOTE (sircaffey @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 05:44 PM) And now you are a person from St. Louis overrating Conor Gillaspie. Not overrating him. If you look at one of my post I said he had a chance to be above average. I know he isn't great or will be great but I think he is better then Freese and I would much rather have him on this team then Freese. And he is younger and left handed which is what we need. I personally want him to get another chance at 3rd this year.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 04:55 PM) FRIENDLY REMINDER: Don't ever mention David Freese again Sorry lol. Being from St. Louis I had to hear everyone say how awesome David Freese was and how everyone loved him and I said from the beginning he was overrated.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 04:44 PM) I also realize his numbers were much better than Conors in all three of those seasons. Like I said, Im not saying I want Freese, Im just saying he is better than Conor Huh?? At age 26 David Freese had 31 ABs with 1 home run and 7 RBIs Conor Gillaspie who was 25 to start last year had 408 AB's 13 home runs and 40 RBIs

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 03:57 PM) Ok, well you are using the "He is 30 and more likely to regress" reasoning for Freese. Thats fine, but what about "Conor Gillaspie had his first season in the bigs at 26, so this is probably the best he is ever going to be"? Usually players that couldnt get out of the minors until that age end up being nothing more than AAAA players. Freese has demonstrated that he can produce at the big league level You do realize the first MLB action David Freese got was at age 26 which he had 34 PA. At age 27 he had 270. At age 28 he had 363. so according to this and you Conor is ahead of schedule and will be better then Freese

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 03:40 PM) Ok, that's fine -- just so we all know it has nothing to do with who the better player is, lol. Gillaspie may have more upside, but right now, he is absolutely NOT a better player. And Gillaspie is NOT a better homerun hitter. You can cherry pick Freese's worst, injury-plagued year if you want, but you're ignoring the rest of his entire career, including his last healthy year, just one season ago, when he hit 20 homers. Freese has more power than Gillaspie. There is no information at all to suggest otherwise, even scouting reports on Gillaspie have ALWAYS questioned his power. Freese has played 2 full seasons, not like he has 6 or 7 to go off of. One pretty good year and one bad. Like I said he has an injury filled past too so you can't really say "injury-plagued year." He will always have some injuries going on. He still managed to play 138 games this year, only 6 more then the previous year.
