  1. I don't disagree, but TLR will still play Leury way too much, fail to pull pitchers when painfully obvious, play dudes out of position, stack the lineup in asinine ways, etc etc.
  2. Yeah, TLR is an easy target, but its as much on Hahn for the shitty non-existent depth. Understanding there is little choice when this is all that is available doesn't make me feel any better about it.
  3. I believe he hinted that Robert wouldn’t play the rest of the series. Or that’s what should have been obvious from his comments.
  4. Dear lord what the bloody fuck are you doing with that 5-9 TLR? What the actual fuck. Way to go out with a bang…
  5. Any Tonyisms contribute to yesterday’s loss, or was it just Lynn being awful and the Menechino offense continuing to suck ass? Any follow up from the Twitter blow hard on his prognostication?
  6. Letting Kimbrel go, retaining Rodon, still adding Cueto as insurance, not giving Leury 3 years, no VV, no Kelly, signing any glove first 2B, and hell giving Micker at shot at RF instead of banking on Sheets to be anything more than Daniel Palka 2.0 and you’re already in a better position than you are locked into multiple years of old, or injured, or garbage.
  7. UC on game or concert days is a mess to get to by car. There are less transit options as well. West Loop has exploded and seems like a much bigger draw than the South Loop, but Armour Square vs Near West feels about as detached from either respectively. 290 sucks worse anywhere IMO than the Dan Ryan getting to 35th. UC area definitely wouldn’t be an improved location for the Sox. It’s a little too late to build in the South Loop and going suburb kills half of the draw. A new park where old Comiskey was is most feasible to me - if it ever gets to that point.
  8. re Cubs attendance, who fucking cares? If tourists want to flock to overpriced faux nostalgia, let them. Less dumbass tourists to navigate through going to the places that I enjoy. Also, always and forever, fuck the Cubs.
  9. Where have these rumors circulated? Perhaps they’ve circulated entirely within your head? Never once heard that the Wirtz family is next in line nor anything about building a new stadium near the UC. I call BS.
  10. Yup. Sox were leading the division at the ASB last in year. Since then they've been a .500 club. They should have been far more competitive in that time, but here we are, basically celebrating the fact that we are at .500 2 games before the break. I don't know about anyone else but that's simply not good enough to me.
  11. He is 23. Locking in 15 years is nuts, even if it is the highest dollar contract ever given out. Unless he has opt outs every few years, I don't blame hit at all for turning that down. $10/$350M with opt outs after 3, 5, 7 or so would be a much more favorable deal IMO.
  12. Yeah. A - don't have the trade assets to pull it off, and even if they did, B - He bounces in 2 years because unless the Sox magically have new ownership, we all know JR isn't going to put $500M guaranteed down to retain him.
  13. 15/$440 is a mind boggling contract, even though its only a $29M AAV.
  14. While Cueto has been a revelation, letting Rodon walk w/o the QO or even a decent offer remains shortsighted and IMO stupid still. 2B has not improved - Harrison while better than Leury recently has been bad half the year, is completely redundant, and only plays part time. He neither supplanted TLR's over use of Leury nor does he bring anything unique to the lineup. RF is still a catastrophe. Sheets remains awful in the field, Pollock who was acquired to start there rarely does, and as much as I love AV, he is no better in RF than Sheets. This team still has no starting quality RF, still needs consistent LF power, they are still awful vs RHP, the depth remains paper thin, injury still plagues, and TLR is still fucking awful. How exactly was any of this improved by the laughably bad offseason?
  15. This remains 100% true and accurate. The off-season was and is still a massive failure. And the worst part is he gave multiple years to a few awful signings so the ramifications won’t be fully realized for a while yet.
  16. Based on performance, yeah VV has been decent. The decision to sign him definitely remains an F.
  17. Is Robert in RF post injury the worst outcome? I know his bat is way more valuable in CF, but nothing is perfect. If it keeps him healthy I’m all for him splitting time.
  18. Let my viewing absence bring luck once again. Twins are beatable, no better time than now.
  19. I recall Stone saying something like it will be a while with Bummer when they were talking about the pen over a live shot of someone getting loose. Obviously that’s vague but I haven’t seen any update on him in quite a while.
