And he played without a real viable backup for seemingly all of last year and that has to take a toll on a catcher. I don't think last season was an aberration, but I also don't think he nets enough in a trade right now to make up for his loss on the roster. It sucks for him that he's no longer the clear starter going into his FA season-and I feel for him personally there, but he should still get plenty of games in.

I don't see a McCann trade at this point. If the rumor is true the FO has had all winter to find him a new home and it hasn't happened. With Grandal banged up this spring, I think McCann sticks around and soldiers on. The team is better with him on the roster and I dont see the FO weakening a position of strength halfway through Spring Training.

I foresee one more college arm at 11 then prep heavy. Might be the last chance to draft a potential starter to add to the current window, assuming of course that they aren't picking this high again for while. Start stocking the system with prep players round 2 onward to continue building the next wave of talent.
