  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 07:22 PM) All I remember is one start vs a horrible Giants team that kept chasing high fastballs He had 3 or 4 good starts if I remember correctly
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 07:17 PM) Easily best he's ever looked, regardless of results What about last September?
  3. If he got that 2-1 call in the 1st, his outing goes from good to great so far
  4. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 06:51 PM) Chicago White Ks Constant Ks and leading MLB in home runs. We're the poster child for Rob Manfred.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 06:48 PM) Engel looking overmatched again. Didn't last long I really hope he isn't getting consistent ABs by June. The good defense doesn't justify being the worst offensive player in the league
  6. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 06:23 PM) Why are the Sox still trying to make this guy a starter? Give it up already. What, because of the walk? I'm confused as to what prompted this comment
  7. Why doesn't Yoan ever get the green light on steals
  8. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 04:20 PM) Explain to me why Chase field has one then? Monsoon season? 90 one night does not equal 105 regularly
  9. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 04:16 PM) Yes. They should. Too damn hot. I get where you're coming from and I understand that you're hypersensitive to heat. But I really don't see any team closing their retractable roof if it's 90 and sunny.
  10. https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/981624114887692288 Sox plan to play tomorrow... lol
  11. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 12:52 PM) For those who say he defers too much: he's a handicapped man who's never played baseball in his life most likely, calling a professional game with a former Cy Young winner. I'm *glad* he defers. Why should I give a s*** what Benetti thinks of a certain play, player, or situation? I haven't noticed this at much this season, but it is really annoying when the broadcasts become a glorified Q & A session with Stone. There's a difference between deferring and acting like this is the first time you've ever watched a baseball game.
  12. Shields and Gonzalez are just placeholders for Kopech and Rodon, really. And if Fulmer doesn't do well, he'll turn into Stephens soon enough
  13. Aside from that walk, rough game for Yoan
  14. QUOTE (Quin @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 09:10 PM) Schwarber-esque right there. Schwarber would've tripped and fallen over much further from the ball
  15. Not to mention Moncada is already one of the best defensive 2B in the game. A .750 OPS to go with that is a very valuable player- and that number will most likely go up throughout his career
  16. Engel's throw on that... good lord that was bad
  17. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 08:53 PM) both really. https://www.mlb.com/news/statcast-introduce...017/c-217802340 Thanks. And I see your point- if Engel is gonna be a complete liability offensively, he needs to make 4 star grabs.
  18. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 08:51 PM) And where did you get 100 extra OPS? Is he gonna hit 20 more home runs than I gave him? Remember, I was generous on his BABIP, so .740 is lucky. Not likely. I still don't know why you think he's gonna be a worse hitter than he was last year
  19. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 08:48 PM) catch probability 41% on that engel drop so no, it really wasn't an extraordinary play. It wasn't routine. It was a play, as I said, that an "elite fielding", light hitting starting MLB CF needs to make more often than not. And credit Engel, he knows it, you could see it on his face. Does catch probability on a fly ball take into account shifts/where the fielder starts at, or is it purely based on batted ball stats?
  20. A .740 OPS? He's gonna regress from last year, huh?
