The issue with all of these fan made Cubs/Sox trade proposals is that Cubs fans are too set on not giving up any of the big prospects (Bryant/Schwarber/Russell) and instead make players like Starlin Castro and Javy Baez centerpieces, while Sox fans are too set on getting 1-2 of the big three prospects while also receiving a Javier Baez or an Albert Almora on the side. There has to be a middle ground. They're undervaluing our pitchers and we're overvaluing them.

Are Panarin shirseys sold anywhere? I can't find one online and I can't custom-make one because it "violates the NHL.com player customization rules"

Derrick Rose says there's "no point" in shooting when he can't see, so he's going to be more of a distributor until his vision comes back. I say we'll see.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 10:26 PM) Oh sure the Sox could use a DH. But in this day and age, you need one who has a position. And the Cubs aren't trading Schwarber anyway. I think they might trade Schwarber. It's obvious that he's a DH playing in a league that doesn't have one.

WS 2016 LAD 1st, Cubs 2nd, KC tied for 11th, Sox tied 18th
Jose Abreu replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 04:25 PM) That is actually statistical analysis. That makes some sense. Vegas odds are nothing more than conversation fodder. I know, my point is that you can't statistically analyze the 2016 [insert MLB team name here] because rosters can change dramatically over the next couple months. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 09:01 AM) Odds are measures of how fans are betting, not what level of reality something has of actually happening. I guess my post was also about the projections that came out a week or two ago that had us at 70-something wins. -
How is the value of a star WR/elite deep threat with no off the field issues a 2nd round pick? Hell, Jeffery was a 2nd round pick who plays as if he was in the top 10. Why would we trade him for what is essentially a do-over at drafting him? Also, White-Wilson-Royal-Meredith isn't a very promising WR group.

I think the Broncos will be eliminated fairly early in the playoffs. Peyton, aside from last night, is just a shell of himself.

I hate how odds/projections come out and are taken seriously on the first day of the offseason, or even beforehand. A lot can change over the next couple months for all teams. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 05:53 AM) I think the moral of the story is Greg is never right when picking who is going to win. It is impressive how wrong, lol. Honestly, one could be filthy rich by betting on whichever team he thinks will lose.

Bears looking good so far in the 2nd half

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 30, 2015 -> 10:45 PM) What's everyone's take on Noah playing limited minutes? When the Bulls get outrebounded like they have been in all 3 games, it makes me think the small lineup is costing them too much. It was really just Drummond manhandling Gasol on the glass the whole night.

QUOTE (shysocks @ Oct 30, 2015 -> 09:36 PM) Rose held it in isolation at the three point line for too long, started his drive too late, and took a bad step back jumper that wasn't even close. Ultimate Hero Ball possession. It was a failed reenactment of his game winner against GSW last season.

Hard to watch. So many missed shots and turnovers for both sides.

Wow, Ratliff is clinically insane.

Didn't even know the 76ers had Nik Stauskas.

Sox to hire Greg Sparks as Ast Hitting coach
Jose Abreu replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 30, 2015 -> 08:38 AM) Want to know about Sparks? Turns out in addition to his Oakland commonality with Steverson, he's also got a deep history with the White Sox. Detailed here. Wow, of course, JR again only hiring guys with ties to the organization... -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 11:38 PM) It does seem that every position player the Sox acquire/bring up does turn to crap the past couple years. I guess the exception was Trayce. .295 in 135 plate appearances with five homers and 16 ribbies. That projects to about 20 homers and 70 RBI for a rookie, not bad. I'd definitely get rid of Avi and gamble on Trayce. If he hits that well he's as good as Avi offensively and so much better defensively. 20/70 for Trayce? As much as I want that to happen, it won't. He was so bad offensively in September, perhaps because pitchers figured out his weak spots. I think, best case scenario for Thompson, he plays great defense, hits maybe .260 with 15 homers and 60 RBIs.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) I'm guessing they wanna play Rosario at 1B. Wouldn't mind Morneau if they dump Laroche. They also have Ben Paulsen, who played an ok 1B for them.

Justin Morneau or another year of LaRoche
Jose Abreu replied to klaus kinski's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'd be open to it, but doesn't he absolutely despise us? -
Pelicans release Nate Robinson

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 08:13 AM) KC had the fewest strikeouts in the regular season at 973. The difference between them and the next team, Atlanta with 1107, is the same as the difference between Atlanta and the #18 team. Even Chris Sale only got 8 strikeouts against them in 13.1 IP this year.
