  1. Gillaspie/De Aza back to back (lefty/lefty)? You won't see Robin do that too often.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 10:32 PM) That's how I feel. Cmon folks, let's hear it for the 2 wins vs. the Stros. Better than losing to 'em. Once again many individual players normally despised come through. Flowers?? Kudos tonight again for his 3 hits and the big one. DeAza? Nice job again. The bullpen? WTF. It came through again. Noesi does OK and Eaton and Lexi excel again. Of course Eaton and Lexi aren't despised, just the others. If we could get A. Garcia back could we contend for wild card? No, I won't go there. But like Big Hurt said ... winning is better than losing. Happy Saturday!! Who are you and what have you done with Greg
  3. http://js.mlblogs.com/2014/07/19/rusney-ca...ite-sox-others/ Pro comparisons are Kenny Lofton and Jacoby Ellsbury.
  4. QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 07:15 PM) abreu .265 / 39 HR / 105 RBI Uh... he's hitting .292 and is trending upwards... and you're saying he only goes 10/32 from 7/18 to 9/30 (or whenever the last game is)?
  5. Sox final record: 73-89 Abreu final line: 302, 51/128, ROY Sale final line: 15-5, 2.46 ERA Who gets traded: Dunn, Beckham Who do the Sox bring in: pass
  6. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 11:57 AM) That's awesome. I'm not sure Gillaspie likes anyone. Always looks like he's plotting to murder someone. Has anyone ever seen him smile?
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 11:25 AM) Far better than Moises Alou's dugout antics.
  8. Pretty funny article. It seems like Sierra and Nieto are well-liked by the team. Well, maybe not by Gillaspie. http://www.southsidesox.com/2014/7/17/5911...dugout-all-star
  9. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 11:52 PM) His contract is insanely valuable to this team as well. Sox are sitting pretty with Sale and Q as 1-2. And if Rodon works out... wow
  10. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 26, 2014 -> 06:42 AM) He could actually exceed the HR/RBI projections at the ASB. How sick would that be?
  11. Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 13m Jose Abreu says that when he learns more English, he wants to learn how to sing the national anthem. Seriously.
  12. Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 8m Jose Abreu says that when he heard the national anthem before the game it really hit him.
  13. Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 12m Jose Abreu calls the All-Star experience "unbelievable."
  14. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/07/cuba...medium=facebook Despaigne to play in Japan
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 10:09 AM) As Jose Abreu drives around Chicago, he finds cross country athletes and asks them to get in the car. He just can't get enough of driving runners home. this one is the winner
  16. Abreu says he eats at Home Run Inn Pizza every night
  17. Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 14m When Jose Abreu was 1, his parents took him to get his portrait. He saw a badminton racket and on his own he got into a hitter's pose.
  18. Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 19m In Cuba, Jose Abreu offered to catch 1 day, but he didn't have a cup. He got a foul tip in the area and said "I’ll never catch in my life."
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 12:28 PM) No, it's just based on your own team's games, but the Sox have played 96 so Sale is one inning short. I glanced at the Sox record and it said 44-50. Didn't realize that was 2 days old.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 12:21 PM) Yesterday was the Sox' 96th game, so Sale was the AL ERA leader up until the 5th inning was completed. Now he isn't. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 12:23 PM) The Dodgers have played 97 games. I believe that's the most in the league. Thus, to technically be qualified for the ERA title right now, a pitcher must have throw 97 innings. My bad Hickory, and I didn't know that wite, thanks
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 12:21 PM) So somebody asked on facebook who a better hitter is between Puig and Abreu. Pretty close, I'd like to hear your guys thoughts. Abreu
  22. Felix named starter tomorrow. It says he has the lowest ERA in the AL. I checked, and Sale has a lower ERA. To qualify, he must have 1 IP for every Sox game. He has 95 IP in 94 games. Someone explain this to me?
  23. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 09:43 PM) Who's gonna play SS? Good point. Possibilities include L. Garcia, Beckham, M. Johnson, Sanchez, Saladino... but none are really that good at SS
  24. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 11:54 AM) According to John Saunders on this morning's ESPN Sports Reporters, Nelson Cruz is the major league leader in home runs. I guess that means 28 > 29. Annoying. Same thing happened on MLB Tonight
  25. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 08:29 PM) I'm sure when Abreu hits a homer that just barely makes it out the pitcher goes "In another park, that stays in!" Yeah, who cares about all this. A home run is a home run.
