  1. Putting on a clinic in regards to swinging and missing.
  2. My friend is a Yankee fan. Said they called the Cubs and offered Andrew Miller for Schwarber
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 06:52 PM) That at bat by Garcia was pathetic He's just clueless. He really doesn't do anything well.
  4. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 06:47 PM) This hack is just down right embarrassing us right now. Is it shocking? This team isn't a good hitting team. They always struggle against bad pitchers. Bruce Chen is one that comes to mind. He was awful but Cy Young against the Sox
  5. Whatever you were swatting at Avi. Just go to AAA for awhile and try to work on some thing positive.
  6. Frazier needs the all star break to reset. He's hit HRs and drove in runs but he needs to start getting XBHs
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 06:27 PM) Internet legend. Maybe but an older ex-Tiger was on a radio station talking about it after the trade and hinted at Avi. So there's that. Wouldn't be the first time something like that's happened in a clubhouse/lockeroom
  8. Can't believe Abreu took that 3-1 fastball down the middle...oh well onto the second inning
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 06:09 PM) I hear what you're saying, but the Tigers are nearly elite judges of offensive talent. They called Victor Martinez right, twice. Have stuck with Castellanos when he seemed like a bust. Identified JD Martinez. Identified Kinsler as a veteran who would still be an impact player. (Granted, Justin Upton, for the moment, looks like a huge debacle but he's been hitting much better recently.) If they really saw something in him, anything like future Miggy Cabrera levels of production, there's no way they would have included him in that package for Jake Peavy. He was banging Prince Fielders wife IIRC that's why they moved Avi.
  10. Good inning Q. Let's get some early runs and jump all over this team
  11. Eh I mean I'd love to get rid of Avi but we haven't acquired that bat yet so we're up s*** creek and stuck as they say. Trying to stay positive with this team after a very nice week against the Red Sawx and Jays.
  12. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 09:39 AM) Please win games against teams you should beat. Please? 6-0 against Minnesota. They seem to be able to do that.
  13. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 03:30 PM) He rarely drew walks in the minors. I don't know why people are hoping it will change in the MLB. No kidding. Maybe he'll develop more of that as he matures. The main thing is that bat is lively and will be a damn good one. His defense has been fine so there really hasn't been any drop off at the SS position.
  14. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 12:06 PM) Post has a lot of truth in it, in my opinion. That's what happens though when the organizational philosophy seems to be muddled and fans generally have no idea if the team is "rebuilding," "going for it" and so forth. In addition the Sox themselves have never really seemed willing to go all in, as in spend a tremendous amount of money on the farm system or raising the payroll high enough to get the top free agents when they become available. They are caught between the proverbial "rock and a hard place..." and that filters down to the fan base. Mark I just want a direction for this club. Want to rebuild? Be my guest. Go all in? Fine whatever don't waste the careers of Sale, Q, Abreu and Eaton.
  15. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 09:29 PM) I'm not sure it happens, but wouldn't it be fun for the Sox to just live with Collins defense next year and add him and a guy like Encarncion to DH. That lineup would have so much firepower. Anderson SS Eaton RF Abreu 1B Encarnacion DH Collins C Frazier 3B Cabrera LF Lawrie 2B Jackson/May/Engel? CF The potential of that is scary Seems like Engel is probably another year from being ready. He's been much better at AA since brought back there. I'd love to add an Encarnacion to this lineup
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 10:37 PM) I suppose we can't completely discount the possibility of riding Avila's currently hot bat for awhile at DH...the problem is that forces Navarro into the line-up too. If you catch Avila, you'll probably wear down his offensive ability over time. Catch Navarro, the defense/pitch-framing/throwing sucks. I'm against that because of Avilas injury history. I'm just not sure I'd give up Fulmer for Cargo. I'm sure it'll have to start there. We don't have a farm system teams drool over. Bruce isn't coming here. Reds wanted nothing to do with our prospects and Dodgers are involved. So they'll surely outbid us. Reddick was my guy at the beginning of the season. Hopefully his injury took some of his value down not sure if that's even possible. I know Oakland is going to try and get a deal done soon if they can't they may move him. Lucroy is another name I've seen floated. I'm sure that package would have to be substantial.
  17. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 09:30 PM) Given the need for a bat and relief help next to the lack of tradable assets the Sox have to use I find it hard to believe they'll trade for a catcher. Even more so now with Avila's play of late. I'd like Pearce though. I wanted him in the offseason. Sox went with Avi Garcia instead. It was more of killing two birds with one stone so-to-speak. Avila has seemed to be picking it up which is very good for this team.
