  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 06:23 PM) Any recap? Thanks Nothing really new mostly talked up the Cards and White Sox. Said there’s 10 teams offering and some have upped their offers. Talked about being able to sell him on the team. Thinks it’s perfect sense for Cards.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) The flawed strategy is trading away assets for his services for a meaningless season thinking that will spur him to sign with the team. No one on this board would love to see Manny Machado in a White Sox uniform more than me. But in 2019. It’s flawed but I can understand the reasoning. Pitch him on the organization so he knows firsthand and not rely on others telling him about here. Plus Castillo may help also.
  3. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 09:33 AM) Understood. Comment was directed to Heyman. Boston and New York seems like the safe answer but in this case probably not the most logical. All good man I know where you were directing it. I just wanted to clarify a little more because I was just waking up and probably didn’t explain it in the best way
  4. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 08:55 AM) I don't understand why the Red Sox would be a fit if they believe in Devers and Xander is under control through 2019, why not just extend him? Also, haven't the Red Sox effectively eliminated themselves as an option because of the recent bad blood? I know, money talks, but if it's the difference between $325M and $340M or something to that effect I can't see him choosing the Red Sox. The Yankees only make sense if they are willing to exceed the luxury tax threshold. I was just saying the teams he mentioned. He also said the Marlins because he’s from Miami. I didn’t mention them because he talked about that not happening now with their rebuild.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 08:44 AM) Well you can go to a conspiracy theory. First installment season ticket deposits are due today. It all could be some news to make those on the fence pony up some cash. It may be coincidence, but there always does seem to be some sort of rumor right around when they are due. I can’t blame them for doing it. Gota sell tickets
  6. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 08:20 AM) That's why it's important to get him in the organization now if indeed you want a shot at his services next offseason. Agreed not to mention the White Sox aren’t a top destination usually for big time FAs. There was talk on the score about Eaton kind of trashing the Sox and Werth telling Eaton he heard the same as well. I’m trying to remember exactly what was said this morning on the score I was just waking up so I didn’t fully catch it. It was right before they were going to interview Jon Heyman.
  7. Of course Jon Heyman, on the score, mentions Yankees and Red Sox next offseason for Machado. But they’re not quite sure where Machado is going to want to go yet.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 07:18 PM) Yeah how many players get this close to free agency and then blow it off? It would be like training for a year to run the marathon and quitting 50 yards from the finish. I’m sure he may if they offered 10 for $400 million. $$ always talks but I agree. He’s got a rare chance at such a young age. Too good to pass up.
  9. I leave for an hour and now it’s a cluster. Lol I don’t care this is at the very least entertaining
  10. ??????????????????????????????
  11. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 08:51 AM) Did you trust him 2 days ago when he said there was no chance the Sox would be after Machado? He’s been pretty spot on about things. So yah I do. Things can change quickly at the meetings.
  12. @barstoolWSD This is some conjecture/ some scoopage, but asked around and am pretty sure Kopech is off limits in a Machado deal FWIW I trust Dave.
  13. Great I’m gona be working all day and be on this like a hawk. Pardon the pun
  14. Just woke up to this insanity? Wow. Not thrilled to say the least. I love Machado but losing Kopech would seriously piss me off. This goes against what Hahn has been doing by doing this now. I’d ok the trade ONLY if he signs. I’m not giving up Kopech if he doesn’t. I just can’t see them giving up Kopech. I could stomach Giolito but wouldn’t be thrilled. Gota wake up and think about this more. Just doesn’t make sense to float Kopech.
  15. I just don’t see teams ponying up for Avi. Better hope would be he has a great first half and you move him at the deadline
  16. I’m fine with tanking another year and developing our prospects. Keep them and then put the full court press on Machado next year. Hopefully Welington Castillo can tell him how much he loves it here next year and our prospects keep filtering up.
  17. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 15, 2017 -> 06:08 PM) Ozuna would take way more than Avi. I think Avi is a consolation prize they may find easier to acquire. Totally agree. I think Avi will be dealt after some of the big bats are signed/traded ala Stanton and Martinez.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 15, 2017 -> 07:09 PM) There is a quote from Hahn at the end. Certainly doesn't sound like a guy not interested, but probably realistic about his chances. There is a lot to sell if he is trying to make his own mark and RH and JR are contract geniuses. I am sure if he will listen they will talk to him, http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2017/11/14/sho...te-sox-pursuit/ I figure this to be alot like the Tanaka sweepstakes minus the giant contract obviously. They'll go for it and hope for the best. It would be funny to use Tad Iguchi as a selling point. This, however, would be another tremendous get if Hahn can do it. Add another top young piece to an already stacked farm system.
  19. Pass because I'd rather see someone who we could potentially rebuild and flip. That's what this off-season signings should be about. Flippable pieces and finding some reliable bullpen solutions long term.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 09:23 PM) Soreness right side for Lopez. See ya in 6 weeks Better than arm problems (glass half full)
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 09:16 PM) Uh-oh, more Moncada defensive issues... He's going to have growing pains
  22. Well that sucks. Heal up Lopez you'll be a really good starter for this club.
  23. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 07:51 PM) TA walked. Now you know Ross is having a rough night. Really happy with Anderson lately. Playing well.
  24. Got Leury for Rios. Could have something with him possibly. Good to see and he'll have his opportunity during this rebuild
