  1. This is a move not THE move were making. Watch out
  2. I really don't like Upton. Not a very good hitter. But I just want a bat so we'll see.
  3. If anyone really believes this front office is confused on whether to buy or sell, then they're just plum dumb.
  4. Do your thing KW and Hahn. I support ya!
  5. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 11:02 AM) That's a good sign, overall I feel the price tags this deadline are cheaper than they should be. Hopefuly we can turn that into a bat for cheap as well. I agree. Makes me happy because we're not moving Quintana for a bat.
  6. I like it honestly. Those loose lips cost us Miggy right?
  7. @Ken_Rosenthal: Official: Price from #Tigers to #BlueJays for Norris, Labourt and Boyd.
  8. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:55 AM) Stand pat or sell. The team should have played better sooner. This is f***ing ridiculous. We didn't. Don't dwell on that. Let's be happy we're playing well and hitting everything in sight.
  9. Telling ya. I was feeling this calm before the storm.
  10. With the way these deals have been "completed" the past few day, not done til it's done. Bring it on Toronto!
  11. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:46 AM) Very commendable that you take harsh and insulting disagreements with such good grace . The prospects lovers don't like Gomez or Gonzalez so we all have our opinions . But the turnaround really started when the defense got better way before the offense so I'd like to continue that trend. Hey I'll admit when I'm biased lol. I don't take message boards to heart. We're on a roll and having fun man. Good old discussions on who we want. I'm not here to be a jerk.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:01 AM) I'm hesitant to give up Micah. I think he's the most sure thing of an offensive player to come through our system since Beckham (yeah yeah). Perhaps odd coming from me since I'm his biggest critic on the site but I still have faith he's going to be a good player for a long long time. I wouldn't package him and another top prospect in Montas (essentially emptying the farm) for 1.25 years of a player. I would love if Montas was the focus of the package. Or Garcia. Or both. Anderson is the better offensive player in my opinion.
  13. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:39 AM) Hey I'm good with either Car go if the price is right, Gomez though I think would be a better fit only because he is a dirt bag kind of player. He always seems to be in the middle of things like AJP used to be. The way he plays defense, has speed, and griderisms, plus the fact he plays with a razor sharp edge I would like him on this team. Ultimately I think Gonzalez is the better player but Gomez plays harder and would add more gas to a team on fire right now. If the price is right then I'm good with either guy in reality. We already have out dirt bag lol. I wonder if he'd clash with eaton.
  14. Even Phil Rogers think Morosi has it backwards. I'm not saying Rogers knows it all but at least he understands this team. @philgrogers: @jonmorosi says White Sox could add a rental SP. Bigger need is best bat available (Cespedes?) Their DHs are last in AL w/.680 OPS, 35 RBIs.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:25 AM) You're sorta clueless, man. I'm not clueless I'm biased
  16. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:31 AM) This is 100% wrong. Coors inflates CarGo's numbers by a lot. True but Tulo and CarGo can hit outside of Coors. May not be crazy like Coors but they can.
  17. The more I think about, the more I think it'll a wood package back to Detroit. Just can't see them moving Urias for a couple months of Price.
  18. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) Watching MLB network and they just talked to Morisi who said he thinks we are buyers, obviously but what is interesting is he thinks we buy another SP. The names he mentioned were Ian Kennedy from SD or Mike Leake from Cincy. No mention of a bat at all. Hmm... They must be looking to shed Danks then. I want a bat more than a starter. Me personally, I'd go get a RHP 8th inning arm to add to this pen and a bat.
  19. People arguing Gomez over CarGo are nuts lol. When healthy CarGo is a superstar. Gomez is not.
  20. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 08:46 AM) Man at this point I wouldn't mind having a Guillen running his mouth so at least we had a smidge of an idea about what the brain trust is thinking about the approaching deadline. This board needs it, just something to signal what our plans may be or a name we are looking into. Right now it's nothing but crickets, and our waste of space beat writers haven't had a scoop in years. For selfish reasons I really wish someone would slip and tell us what the thinking is. We know were not sellers. That much is definite. I know they're working the phones for a bat. They have to be.
  21. QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 08:40 AM) Not even a mention of any Sox rumors anywhere on twitter, not even getting mentioned. Seems eerily quiet on the Sox front unfortunately I'm telling ya man. The silent assassin is at work. I'd be shocked to not see a big move by the deadline let alone today.
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 08:24 AM) Pretty funny coming from the guy pushing Carlos Gonzalez, and Quintana for Puig. I like all the above options, but Carlos Gomez is probably the best overall player of any of them, and he's signed to a very team friendly deal. I think I like Carlos Gonzalez move the best, just because it will cost the least in terms of prospects, and I am not the one paying the check (altho, I do realize it may hamstring us in other areas). The Quintana for Puig idea is asinine. No it isn't. Sometimes to get a good impact bat ya gotta give up pitching. We've shown the ability to draft and develop pitching. Hell even take a guy off the scrap heap and turn him around into a borderline ace.

The Quintana for Puig idea is asinine. Puig is a young impact bat. Carlos is 30 and not putting up great numbers.
