  1. Ya Hamilton just got hurt on a slide into first
  2. @scotgregor: #WhiteSox acquire OF Gorkys Hernandez in minor-league trade with Royals. He'll report to Triple-A Charlotte Royals signed OF Gorkys Hernandez to a minor league contract. The 26-year-old, whom the Royals acquired from the Marlins in July, hit .263/.318/.367 with 25 stolen bases in the minors last season. Hernandez' star has fallen quite a bit since being considered a top prospect, and he'll serve as organizational depth for the Royals. Sat, Nov 23, 2013 08:09:00 PM Little info on him
  3. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 10, 2014 -> 05:25 PM) His throwing shoulder isn't as important though as his lead shoulder when swinging. I think this is one of the worst injuries a power hitter can have. He's 22 not 32. His shoulder will be ok.
  4. Even with Garcias injury, impact starting pitching is what we gota get.
  5. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 10, 2014 -> 03:24 PM) It's a bad injury, happening to his lead shoulder like that . . . I think you have to proceed with this rebuilding as if he's not going to be what was hoped. Garcia will be fine.
  6. I want a W tonight so bad. What a horrid record against them. We're due
  7. Sucks. But hope Tank can put together a decent season so we can move him.
  8. 8:10 PM ET, April 10, 2014 U.S. Cellular Field, Chicago, Illinois 53 degrees Starting Pitchers Cleveland: Salazar (0-0, 3.18 ERA) Chicago: Danks (0-0, 3.86 ERA)
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 10:48 PM) He messed up his shoulder in a game last week as well. Maybe he needs to learn out of to dive without planting his shoulder into the ground? I don't know though, as a former pitcher/infielder I know next to nothing about diving in the outfield but it seems like he's putting too much weight forward. Someone brought up the Maggs slide. I'd prefer a slide from him. Too big to be landing like that. He'll learn and be ok.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 10:13 PM) In 3 series they have faced two awful pitching staffs, one in the biggest hitters Park in the league. Not exactly time to praise any coaching staff yet Ya true but look at the quality of at bats. They're working the counts and seeing good pitches and I like where we're headed. Even if it's only the Rockies.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 09:08 PM) They really need to shake up that bullpen, somehow. I would be tempted to start using Cleto or Webb as the closer, just to see how they respond. Cleto's never been trusted consistently even with 7th-8th inning leads, maybe he would thrive (as he's always been cut or the last guy in the pen for mop-up work at the big league level). He threw a nasty offspeed pitch when he got CarGo down in the count. The key was getting ahead. Cuddyer was fouling off those 98-99 MPH fastballs, and he wasn't simply throwing it by everyone like you'd expect at that velocity. That said, I actually like/d Cleto's repertoire more than Jones. Very similar pitchers, though. And, at some point, they're going to have to go with Veal over Downs until Scott can at least get lefties out. He might be at the end of the line. Cleto couldn't be worse than Bellysorry. I like Lindstrom when he is on. I like his slider a lot. Downs is done. He can't get anyone out.
  12. It's so nice having a good hitting coach with a plan. Love seeing this team at bat. I'll take this team over our no hitting, wasting good pitching teams the past couple years. Love seeing the patience and long at bats. The bullpen will get straightened out eventually.
  13. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 08:14 PM) keithlaw ‏@keithlaw 1h Hearing LHP Brady Aiken, the top prospect for this year's #mlbdraft, is dealing today, hitting 96 at least six times already If true, wow. Hitting 96 repeatedly as a HS lefty with advanced secondary stuff? Haha that'd be awesome to have nasty Sale and Aiken and Quintana as a solid lefty.
  14. I'm hoping we add a good RHP to compliment Sale and Quintana.
  15. I just want the best pitcher we can get, whomever that may be.
  16. Avi will go on the 15 day DL. No need to further risk injury
  17. Thank god it's over. What a f***ing dumpster fire of a pen.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 05:24 PM) On paper it didn't seem that bad coming into the season. Jones being injured/ineffective really hurt, as he was the most dynamic reliever in the bullpen. Agreed. Just saying. I'm not really knocking the guy
  19. Hahn should be ashamed of this pen he assembled
  20. f*** it just glad he's out
  21. @DanHayesCSN: Avisail Garcia left game with a jammed left shoulder. Prelim X-rays showed no fracture, separation or dislocation. Re-evaluated tomorrow.
  22. X-rays all negative on Avi!
  23. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 05:14 PM) Haha everyone sucks but maybe Webb and Cleto. Can't release all of them I f***ing would haha
  24. They're doing to us, what we did to them last night
