ESPN 1000 Radio Show
1. Is Hocking a free agent? Still can't believe he's a possibility. You have to believe Uribe has arrived to be the utility infielder. Spiezio makes more sense than Hocking. He's from Chicago. Got more pop. And he can play first base. 2. I think the Ponson stuff smells like fan-appeasement talk. They'll play the PR game as if they're in the hunt, but in the end Suppan is the guy they'll take. Maybe Dan Reichart and some other Royals' rejects are available. 3. If we're going to deal either Lee, Konerko or Maggs, make it Ordonez (hurts to write this) because if he stays around it will be a freak show all season with the contract thing hanging over his head.

plus, they close the show by predicting the Cubs are going to sign Pudge I'm depressed to the max.

ESPN 1000 Radio Show
pitiful that the Sox don't even send the GM, a manager, a coach, any freaking body, on a two-hour Talkin Baseball show on their own network That sez all you need to know about the sense of PR these guys have -- or their sense of obligation to their fans. Who the hell cares about the Red Sox? Do you think a Boston talk show is talking about the White Sox? In-freakin-credible.

need ozzie to come on and tell everybody to relax, that we're going to make some moves that will make people more optimistic. as it stands, Guillen and Cora are the two best players we have added.

We either A) did not offer him a contract; B) low-balled him; or C) pissed him off while he was here for 7 weeks. Amazing.

Coop speaks
sounds a little discouraged and sez Flash and Bartolo told him they were coming back. But it sounds like The Kids Are Going to Pitch. The link: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cha

Constructive action. Kip Wells, josh fogg and Sean Lowe for Todd Ritchie was action, I'll remind you.

ESPN 1000 Radio Show
Boston was desperate for pitching and Suppan sat behind Burkett, Wakefield and Fossum. His earned run average was nearly 5.6. Rather try Rauch or Pacheco

Pessimism central
Sox fans have never forgiven JR for 1994 -- and never will until we have a World Series team. Plus, we all know that with Prior, Wood, Patterson, Hawkins, Lee and the others we're all looking at another summer of having the CUBS smashed into our faces. it's not a pleasant prospect.

Ponson is the name they have to float to sooth the fans. Suppan is more likely as they fish for Esteban II.

The Royals get EVEN BETTER
i'm not that worried about Benito. Brett Mayne had a really good year for the Royals last year, especially in the first half of the season when KC was winning. Can't see Benito playing as well as Mayne did. Plus, although they added Stairs, they lost Tucker -- who also played well for them. I'm more concerned that KC improved its bullpen by adding OUR GUY -- Sullivan and resigning Grimsley and Lekskanic.

Talking Baseball on ESPN 1000 tonight:
So essentially what you are saying is that out of towners can't listen live -- unless we can pull in the signal on a radio long-distance?

Maggs for Mulder
He's probably a Cubs' fan -- like LaTroy. Plus, his favorite color is probably green -- preferrably in large stacks.
-
What do the Sox have to show for
For the record, the Sox have 37 guys on their 40-man roster listed on the team web site -- and that incluces Ryan Meaux, Ryan Wing, Mike Rivera, Ruddy Yan and Ross Gload. Cowboy up, fans.
-
Maggs for Mulder
And Mulder is signed for two more years, I believe. Why would he want Maggs for one season? At $14 million. When he has Kotsay, Kielty, Byrnes and Dye? can't see it.

Is there any way to listen to the show via the Internet? Please advise for us out of towners.

What do the Sox have to show for
Considering all the negative PR flowing around the sox, be nice if Kenny Williams at least stepped forward and calmed the masses by suggesting he had some moves up his sleeve. Hard to see how the Sox are going to sell many tickets without making a move of some kind.
