  1. How does nobody get to that pop up lol
  2. Yea but not nearly the pitch count of Colome - if he had just pitched two low key innings I’m sure he would be back for a third tonight
  3. Well that’s a terrifying proposition How about Detwiler takes the 8th and Marshall gets the 9th? EDIT: that aged well. Cordero scares me but if he gets this out we all know we are seeing him in the 8th
  4. Giving up (correctly) and trying not to make it an inside the park HR again. Seriously I think he played it ok.
  5. I wouldn’t have but you would have been right. So it goes. Seemed like Gio tried to argue his way into staying in the ballgame. Love that competitive spirit. love the Ricky troll with Cordero. I love Detwiler here
  6. As dominant as his changeup has been, I’m so happy to see him mix in his slider with such regularity. It’s never going to be Sale’s slider (especially as he isn’t a southpaw) but it’s a phenomenal tertiary pitch and using it early and often makes the changeup all the more effective throughout the game
  7. 24 swinging strikes in under 100 pitches. Giolito’s Fangraphs page gets sexier by the inning
  8. TA so close to having the web gem there
  9. Let’s say Giolito goes through this inning 1-2-3. What is the max pitch count for him in which you would bring him back to pitch the 7th?
  10. Up to 19 swinging strikes now. The Royals are bad but that’s masterful through five innings
  11. 13 swinging strikes for Giolito so far btw - not bad for four innings lol
  12. Way more wasted opportunities last time. Not sure if our approaches are bad or we are just unlucky rn or Bubich is dealing but it is a different feel - I believe since the first inning we have only had the TA BB
  13. Pretty bad called third strike on moncada - Giolito better get those!
  14. Hard to pick between Anderson and Abreu as MVP this year - what a nice problem to have
  15. I don’t think those are allowed against the Royals
  16. Colome is the one of the most ridiculous closers I think I’ve ever seen. He really does almost never blow a game but it literally seems like he’s blowing it every single time.
  17. Love seeing the multiple-time Gold Glover drop a ball- glad they didn’t rule it an error as well
  18. I think so tbh. Besides Marshall and Colome, who else do you bring in for the 7th here? Foster maybe? I actually wouldn’t hate Foster or Heuer to start out this inning actually
  19. Heuer is pitching incredibly well. It’s almost like we could have used him in the last week, but I can’t think of any bullpen situations that would have fit
  20. I would like to see his stats against non-Sox teams this year. They’re probably numbers that Alonso would have been jealous of last year
  21. I can’t believe we got out of that one with a tie. Still think we would have won the challenge and could have emerged with the lead but all things considered I’ll take it. If Dunning can give us three runs in five innings it’ll be acceptable I suppose.
  22. This team is really the epitome of Spahn and Sain and pray for rain. I wonder what the price would have been for a year and a half of Lynn
