  1. Hopefully Eloy has a little Alexei in him where he rolls around like you think he’s going to die and then two minutes later is totally fine.
  2. Homer for Robert. Cycle watch.
  3. Good take.
  4. A real battle of the titans going on.
  5. Hahaha....this is good. Really seems like he gives at least one run up every outing.
  6. Fatigue might be a factor in calling him up. He’s played much more (thankfully) this season than in previous years. Id like to see him because it’s exciting, but I won’t be upset if his season ends when the minors season does.
  7. I basically question the seriousness/sincerity of the quote. In casual conversation, it’s common to speak in hyperbole. These off the cuff remarks get taken too seriously sometimes. Robert is the best player on the planet and Viciedo was the Babe Ruth of Cuba. ...Scouting is more than simply evaluating tools. That’s the easy part. Also, no need for the whole “pal” thing.
  8. One of the benefits of rebuilding is being in a position to give these types of guys a legitimate shot and hope you strike gold.
  9. Yeah I think he’ll be really good, too. I guess I try to temper expectations a bit, but mostly because it bother me seeing guys fall victim to impossible expectations. You can see it with Moncada a bit, even in the midst of a great season. It’s hard to not get excited, though, I agree.
  10. I know the quote. Scouts say shit like that all the time. Every year there’s a new one. I used to run into a scout in my territory pretty regularly and every single time there was a new “best hitter he’s ever seen” Im not discounting Robert’s ability, but come on.
  11. This morning he’s the best player in the world and a future 50-50 guy. I’m almost glad he didn’t hit a second grand slam or some guys heads might have exploded. Hard to ask for a better debut, though. He’s been gradually lowering his k-rate too, which was my main concern. It’ll be interesting to see what they do if he keeps mashing.
  12. Hahaha that guy is something else
  13. He was born in Montreal and spent a good chunk of his childhood there. Maybe he speaks French.
  14. Bummer had a good couple games too which made me look him up on FG. Funny enough, with only 0.1ip difference from last season, he has the exact same WAR. Kind of funny, really.
  15. My thought is McCann was toying with the idea of going home on the throw the first.
  16. that was hard to watch, but it’s done and hopefully he can settle in and end the day on a positive note over the next few Innings.
  17. Yes hopefully he doesn’t start off with an outstanding year and then just be only good afterwards, because it sucks having good players
  18. Pull the truck up front and lay down the next bunt.
  19. He will come up, crush to the tune of .317/.383/.581 and forever be your fave player.
  20. Maybe this has been mentioned already, but with guys committing to teams as early as 13, 14 it is possible we don’t see the real bulk of the work put in by the international staff during the Robert penalty until next July. Or maybe I’m just looking for the positive because I like Paddy. Met him a couple times in my scouting days, and he was a really likeable guy. Very humble, aside from wearing his World Series ring every day haha
  21. Any list with Herbert Perry is 100%. And Kelly Wundch.
  22. Who’s going to ground out to second?
